The area just inland in New Hampshire is a hard one for finding places to stay. All the motels and hotels are either on the Rt. 1 corridor on the coast or further inland at the lakes and mountains. If you're in the Rochester area, your choice is either to drive 15 miles to Rt. 1, or select one of only a few places. For budget motels, Rt. 125 is one of the few choices. It is an old building, but has been cleanly re-modeled recently. The rooms are clean, hot water plentiful and there's cable television. It still has oddities, like very low ceilings and small rooms. Prices are not as low as perhaps they should be - there are cheaper digs 15 miles away on the more competitive Rt 1 corridor - but the place is clean. However, the management is hugely uptight.
