Booked through Expedia and arrived with a printed copy of the email confirmation in hand. The desk clerk tried to charge us a significantly higher rate and we had to fight for the agreed upon price, which was finally honored after a manager was requested. The first room we were assigned was in a dimly lit, narrow, upstairs hallway where... More

I am a seasoned traveler and have never been treated as poorly and unprofessionally as I was at this establishment. At 0900 yesterday morning I called and made a guaranteed reservation for a late check inn. A small group was doing the Bretton Woods Zip Line tour which finished around 5:30 pm. We got to the motel around 6pm. We... More

Hiking nearby Mt. Washington with friends and teenagers. Was not looking to spend a lot of money or a lot of time in a hotel room. The Shakespeare was a good value, clean, had comfortable beds and a great restaurant (again a good value) The staff were all super friendly and helped to make the experience a good one.

First please let me say we are so sorry for the lost of Dale. Our thoughts and prayers are with Yvonne and her family. Dale lives on with the spirit of the new staff. I just want to thank them for the wonderful week we spent there. Mr Kelly and staff made us feel welcome and part of the family.... More

Though in a beautiful location, remote and quiet, the rooms were below basic. Daily service consisted of hoovering and re-making the bed... thats all. Replenishment of cups, coffee, and even cleaning the bathroom seemed beyond the laid back attitude of the staff of this motel. The bath was peeling, the bathroom poor, bordering on unhygenic. Yet Dale, the proprieter, was... More

We had a lot of problems with our stay that I think you should know about. First the entry door to our room had a problem where if you don’t close it just right, even when locked, it doesn't latch. The one day we got maid service I was worried it wouldn’t get closed and latched and sure enough when... More

My wife & I stayed one night & wished we were staying longer. The warm hospitality, great food and mountain view all combined to make our stay extremely enjoyable. Our room was very comfortable. Dale & Yvonne really made us feel at home. We will definitely be going back!

We booked only two nights at Shakespeare's Inn for our weeklong stay, so in case we don't like it, we can move somewhere else. However after examining our room (second floor in the main building), we decided to stay for the whole period. The (I suppose) owner Dale is a very friendly and helpful man and housecleaning is spotless. We... More
