I can't even say our weekend trip was like visiting friends or family. It was better! It was like visiting beloved friends and family that actually wanted you around! Monique the innkeeper, Kristin and all of the staff were so warm and gracious that we felt actually, cherished! Aside from the incredible hospitality, beautiful inn and marvelous breakfast, the wonderful,... more

There's good and bad to this place. Akwaaba's in a great location with just a short walk to the beach, restaurants, etc. The innkeeper is very nice and takes the time to get to know and help the guests. The inn, however, is in desperate need of repair. The paint is peeling, carpets are stained, windows need replacing, plants need... more

My husband and I spent a relaxing, romantic, cozy, two-night stay at Akwaaba Buttonwood Manor for our "mini-moon" (what we have affectionately called our honeymoon). Akwaaba Buttonwood Manor is located directly across the street from Akwaaba by the Sea. We drove from Philadelphia directly to Cape May. The directions on Akwaaba's website were precise and we did not get turned... more

There are two wonderful B&B properties owned by the Akwaaba franchise in Cape May. My friends and I stayed at the Buttonwood Manor across the street from Akwaaba by the Sea. I have stayed in a few B&Bs in the past and this was by far the best experience I have ever had. The owner, Monique Greenwood, greated us shortly... more

Booked directly through Inn, should have known we would have problems when Inn's website does allow to book directly. You must call and leave phone number. Arrrived with Wife, child and Mom for weekend of relaxation. Arrived to find out we had to go across street to check in at what seemed cleaner facility. After finding staff to get key... more

My friend and I recently spent two nights at Akwaaba by the Sea for a girls-getaway weekend and we decided that the place was just plain shabby. But we had a great time, because we’re cool. Here’s how it all went down. We pulled up to the B & B and were immediately struck by the appearance of the outside... more

My boyfriend and I just got back from wonderful weekend at Akwaaba by the Sea and we miss it already! Monique, the hostess and owner could not have been more gracious and lovely. She was a joy to talk to about the history of Cape May and Akwaaba . Her passion for Cape May and Akwaaba is infectious. The rooms... more

First B& B experience and it was great. The company, the conversations, the oral history, afternoon tea and gourmet breakfast is highly recommended. We will return at Christmas and the Jazz Festival and gather all our friends to join us.The rooms are historically decorated and named after great people from the area which gave more meaning to our stay. We dined at... more

We loved Akwaaba. My fiance and I were given the best of treatment. We arrived very late in the evening and the Inn Keeper/owner was very accommodating. The food was fantastic! Everyone who we met that weekend were raving about the food and service. They also have wonderful afternoon refreshments. The home made apple pie and lemonade was just a... more
