The Duke was the first B & B we visited in Cape May. We arrived in the evening, a day after Christmas, and walking into the massive lobby, I was overwhelmed with the beauty of the Victorian charm. All decked in holiday decor. The innkeeper welcomed us and quickly did the check in transaction, then escorted us to our room... more

The Duke of Windsor Inn is a charming building. The manager when we stayed there last summer was very nice and friendly, though she wasn’t there after about 4 or 5 so if we wanted recommendations on a place to eat, we had to remember to ask in the morning. Our room (one of the ones in the tower) was... more

I stayed at this b and b last summer when I couldn't find reservations last minute. The price was half decent, and we had one of the few rooms with a tv, private bath, a/c. I wouldn't want to get stuck having a room without some of those amentities, but that is just me. The establishment is just far enough... more

Stayed there a while ago. Had a small modest room with bath down the hall and only a ceiling fan. Wasn't a great value for the money. Owners at the time were school teachers who managed the place when they were off in the summer. Frankly, getting won over by the value of the new low cost chains, Hampton Inn,... more

This was our third trip to Cape May, and we continue to enjoy staying at the Duke of Windsor Inn. From the moment you walk in, you are greeted in a warm, friendly, and caring fashion and throughout your stay, that feeling remains. The place itself is steeped in quiet and repose, as it is not on the main drag,... more

Reviewer: Margie from Philadelphia Date: August 2006 I just returned from 3 wonderful days at the Duke of Windsor in Cape May, New Jersey. What a beautiful house! And what friendly and warm staff! I particularly want to commend Heather, the inn manager, for her warmth and friendliness, which added so much to our stay. She made us feel so... more

We have stayed at the Duke of WIndsor three times now. One time last year and twice this year and we LOVE it! Heather is the new manager and she is very helpful and pleasant. The first time we stayed this year I was suffering from morning sickness, my husband called and told Heather that the only thing I could... more

I would agree with an earlier review listed here that the Duke was just barely ok. While the building is in very, very nice shape, clean and nicely decorated, the food left much to be desired. A regular at B&B's, I always look forward to a nice breakfast. The solitary choice of an egg souffle 3 days in a row... more

I have been going to Cape May for long weekends (usually holiday ones) for the last 20 years. I have stayed in many different B&B's and Inns and I have to say that "the Duke" (as we call it) is by far the best. Since we first stayed there about 2 years ago...that is the only place we stay in... more
