From the outside, this place looked perfect for me. It's a small '50s motel with a neon sign out by the road. The rate was pretty high ($69), so I was expecting a pretty nice room.

What I ended up with was the sort of dump I usually only pay about $35 for. The room was reasonably clean, but all the furniture was ugly old junk from the '80s. There was no clock or phone, just a TV. The bathroom did have a cool aqua and black tile shower, but that hardly made up for it. There was a lot of road noise since US 130 is still heavily traveled. more
