The interaction of the management was very bad. Breakfast had to be requested not just once but several times.
I understand that budget hotels sometimes have this problem, but their complete unwillingness to simply reset the router is aggravating.
"Hi, this is room 106. The internet connection keeps dropping out. Can you please reset the router in case this fixes the problem."
"Ehhhh, the internet is verking."
"I understand at the moment it's working, but every couple of minutes the signal drops out. Can you please reset it real quick to see if this helps?"
"Ehhhh the internet is verking so that will not fix."
"I'm a computer guy. Trust me that I know what I'm talking about. Can you please quickly unplug the router for a few seconds and then plug it back in. It's very east to do and will often fix problems like this."
"Ehhh yes but the internet is verking."
"Really? You won't do this simple thing for a guest? You don't think I'll go straight to trip advisor and tell the world how unhelpful you are?"
"Ehhhh the internet is verking."
"You've been a great help. Thank you for all of your efforts. Get some rest, you work too hard."
"Ehhhhh..."
Aside from their rude incompetence, the room isn't exactly filthy, but it has that slight "could be urine" smell. I'm too tired to check out and deal with charging back the cost from my credit card company. I hope this review helps someone make a better choice.
The computer geniuses here who obviously know what they're talking about haven't even bothered to secure the router, so I've gained access and locked everyone out. Hopefully that will drive complaints to the front desk.
"Ehhhhhhhhhhhh."
the price and the closeness to work and friends. The room was fine for my needs..
Our room smelled awful, the window in the front was broken, and it was dirty. I immediately tossed the comforter off the bed (it looked 50 years old and never washed). The sheets were a mess but at least clean. The old vellux blanket was covered with burn holes. I checked for evidence of bed bugs (moved the mattress and looked for bug debris) but couldn't find any otherwise we would have stayed elsewhere. There was a window in the bathroom that had a cut out piece of plexiglass just patched over it so who knows what was behind that. There was a large hole in the wall for the cable with no grommet, just loose wires and the generous 20" TV did not have a working remote control. The bathtube was disgusting and covered in stains and the plumbing was horrible (had to hold the handle to flush for over a minute).
Needless to say, when we got back from our party we had a pretty awful nights sleep. I found a TV station I could be happy with all night and adjusted the volume on the TV itself (archaic!!) and then tried to catch at least a nap. I wished I had brought my pepper spray. I slept maybe 1 to 2 hours if that.
My only positive was that it was over 100 degrees out that day/night and our air conditioning worked - loud, but it worked.
This hotel was NOT CHEAP - I totally overpaid the $60 it cost to stay in this hovel. I thought that the Days Inn brand was required to keep some level of service and quality along with its name but apparently that's not so. In my opinion, this hotel needs to be leveled, there is no redemption.
I will NEVER stay here again, in fact, it may be a very long time before I stay with the Days Inn brand again, even for one night.
The other large problem with this hotel is the front desk was beligerent, ignorant, and completely all around stinky as a horse's behind. When we went to talk to them about the poor state of our room, we were met with a wall of stupidity and repeated phrases like "No it isn't" and "You're wrong" in a barely understandable accent. At one point we were walked away from. After that we tried calling to the hotel and were hung up on as soon as they found it was us.
We called the corporate office and complained to them and we got a kind brush off. We got a call from the days inn in edison and the first words were "Did you call corporate? Why did you do that!?" sounding quite like a child getting told on to a teacher.
No matter the response promising change/improvement; or the mouthpieces spouting how they're currently retraining the staff; they have repeatedly ignored complaints. What's even worse is the fact that they revel in the idiocy that is a fog in that workplace.
