Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Worst hotel ever. There was dried blood on the towels, piss on the toilet seat, the sheets were filthy, and the room stunk of cigarette smoke so bad it caused me an asthma attack. The carpets were sticky as well and everything just felt dirty and nasty. If we didn't only stop here for a few hours, 1100-0500, we would have not stayed here. It's disgusting.

Upon arrival there was a man sleeping outside on the concrete walkway. The lady at the front desk assured us he was leaving. Went to our room and it smelled like stale cigarettes. Walked around the room to make sure everything else was clean. Checked the bed, the bathroom, and tub. Everything looked OK. And then I saw it. On the side of this pullout couch next to the wall was a used condom. I was beyond grossed out. Went to the front desk and the woman was like ill refund the room, and gave us a new room AND HAD THE NERVE TO ASK IF INSPECTED THE ROOM I will never not look by the walls ever again. I couldn't stay. I was beyond grossed out. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT STAY HERE. YES ITS CHEAP, BUT ITS NOT WORTH IT FOR YOUR SAFETY AND HEALTH.

Please, please, do not book this hotel. Stay away. We had gotten 2 rooms with them via Booking.com, and the rooms they showed us reeked of cigarette smoke, the carpets were horribly dirty, and the bathroom floors were sticky. The attendant denied, then admitted, that the rooms were smoked in. After a long drive across the state with a tired family, what a let-down! While we were in the lobby (at 1:00 AM) there were loud, indecently dressed women and sleazy men coming through--too many for a normal hotel. Adding to this the luxury cars parked around the hotel, we strongly suspect illicit activity. The proprietors would not refund our credit card, and we had to initiate a charge-back process through our bank. I repeat, please stay away from this hotel.

A good value place to stay if you don't want to spend a lot. It is rather odd though, a building and size with huge rooms and hot tubs in the room - The hotel could be so grand with a bit of investment. Certainly don't be put off by some of the negative revies here, I'm not sure what people were expecting for their $50 investment, but i was reasonably happy with what I received - and that was a clean, large room and a comfy, large bed with a hot tub. Happy.

If I could give 0 stars I would. This place is terrible. I stay in different hotels once a week and this place knows NOTHING about customer service. I got here at 1:30. I was in the lobby and the receptionist which is a young pretty Spanish girl doesn't even say hi. Nothing. She just stared at me. I told her I was checking in, gave her my information and while she was looking at it, this woman comes down and asks her how she can get to the banquet hall from the inside of the hotel. She tells her from the 4th floor. The lady asks her, "yes but how? To the left? Right? " the receptionist tells her just get off the fourth floor and walk. Her attitude was so awful and condescending that it made the lady just give up and figure it out on her own. I came into my room and realized it was 2 beds. Now, this has happened to me many times before in other hotels and I've called the front desk asking them if they have a king or queen bed and they've always accommodated me. This time, I called and she said they were all booked. Meanwhile, there were literally 4 cars parked in the back. She said if they have an opening they would accommodate me if something was available. I let it go and my boyfriend and I went out from 3- 9pm. We came back to the hotel. It was a different receptionist. We asked them for the room with a one bed, they said we would have to pay 30 dollars more for a king size bed. So the girl said there was a room with a king bed available, but then a man behind her said there wasn't. We told them forget it. We get to our room and I used the restroom. It's 10:05 right now and the toilet is still running. We called, told them, the man is here right now and he's arguing with us. It's not about getting a big bed. If I have to get 2 beds with my boyfriend because there’s aren't anymore than I understand. It's about customer service. They're all rude. The receptionists, owner, everyone is rude and act as if your bothering them. If they didn't want to deal with customers than don't be in the hotel business. I will never come here again, and you shouldn't either. They shouldn't be in business anymore if they think they can keep treating customers this way. Worst place I've ever been too.

This place was very run down! As someone else said it looks abandoned. The rooms weren't awful it was clean but not very comfortable and oddly there was a huge tub in the room itself. The lobby and reception area were awful. We got the place blindly on Hotwire and thought we were getting someplace else. I would not stay here again.

I read a lot of negative reviews about the Palace hotel but booked because of price. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. I enjoyed my stay and just booked again. The hotel is nice the two rooms I had were in good shape. In my opinion for the price the Palace hotel should be on your radar if your looking to save a few dollars compared to the other two hotels that are down the street.
