It doesn't matter if your tastes in accomodatations are extravagant or bare bones. This place was a total dump. Not only was the room smelly (a combination of cigarette smoke and cheap cologne) the carpeting was dirty and the bathroom toilet leaked onto bathroom floor (my bare feet told me). Stayed 06-19-09 - had stayed here before. I booked for $103 + taxes/charges. We were given the second room on the west side which really had too much street noise for me - that part of the motel is the old style where you park directly in front of your room. Spent three nights at this hotel while visiting New York. Quite a good location as there is a regular bus service which goes into the city. I went to NYC last month and checked in to this hotel and found that my room opened to a balcony on the 1st floor just above the parking lot which makes it easily accessible to anyone. The room had window facing the balcony which could be opened from the outside...!!!...So pls make sure not to carry valuables. They didn't... more

Certainly Super 8 doesn't have the best location (it's in a noisy road), but price are best. Actually, I was surprised the hotel was quite fine. Room had ac, fridge, microwave and flat large TV. Great location with free parking. Probably 1/3rd the price of staying in Manhattan. For $2.50 the frequent shuttle that stops just outside the lobby door will take you to midtown (42nd/8th ave/ Port Authority ). Saturday morning the trip takes 20-25 minutes.
