First, the hotel is under renovation..lots of dust, noise and rude construction workers. The first impression was not good! The lobby was a literal construction zone. We were surprised there wasn't caution tape and safety warnings! Check-in included the loud profanity coming from several construction workers nearby...no big deal to the front desk staff!! Ours was supposedly a "non-smoking" room,... more

I will never stay there again. Many reasons: My kids and I were given a room on the second floor. We unpacked all our things. (More than just a person for a night with one pc and a small suitcase). All settled in, and a few days later I get a call in the room to say we have to... more

I am giving this place 2 stars only because of the benefit of a doubt. They are remodeling, so maybe when they are finished with their project, it will be a nicer place. For now, this place is best to avoid if you do not want to stay at a place under construction. If you are thrifty with your money... more

Since this is the most recent review, it would be best if most travelers considering this hotel read it. my husband, myself and 2 other couples stayed here since it seemed convenient to the city. None of us are fussy and have stayed in questionable locations but this by far was the worst. Upon booking the rooms, we were not... more

AVOID THIS DUMP. We originally had reservations for 2 nights but we left this dump at 5am the first night due to the animals in the next door room making noise, climbing on the roof, sounds of things breaking etc. The police came twice but didnt do anything. We complained at reception but we didnt get anywhere. We decided to... more

They advertised free shuttle from times square... that was a lie. Man refused to give us change charged us $20.00 each. Another women who was middle eastern like people at hotel was charged only $2.00. The breakfast is off you cant take food up to your room. They like babysit you in dining room. Lobby is nice but kinda creepy... more

When I needed to be in Manhattan and the other hotels wanted nearly $500 a night, the Palace Hotel looked a little shady. The reviews didn't look too good either. Ignore the reviews. This hotel was perfect. It's incredibly close to Manhattan and easy to get to. The room was perfectly lovely. It warn't like the Ritz or nothing, but... more

This is the worst place I have ever stayed. The hallway has very very horrible smell. The TV can never work. The elevator stops between the floors unexpectely, which is really scary. You can always smell Indian food in your room. The front dest clerks are very rude and arrogant. We were waiting in a long line one morning to... more

I cannot tell you enough to stay away from this awful hotel! We booked a room onlne and lived to regret our choice. When you walk in the front lobby it is VERY old looking and scary (reminded me of getting on the Tower of Terror ride at MGM studios). The desk clerk was on his cell phone the whole... more

The staff were very helpful and efficient, though l feel they could work on thier friendliness a little more. The rooms were clean, continental breakfast was good, our two wake up calls were dead ontime. The location of the hotel is convenient, just a 15-20 minute drive into New York. We hired a car at the airport but didn't really... more
