There's not much to say except that Plumwood is THE standout B&B in Franschhoek. The owners are lovely, breakfast is always pleasing, the rooms are spotless and have our favorite bathrooms in South Africa. It's simply a wonderful experience. They also have an arrangement with the local health club -- good to know if you eat like we did! more

Well presented B&B in a great location in Franschoek. Hazel was a star organising our activities for us and Roel made some great vineyard recommendations. The rooms were large and the bathrooms outstanding with really nice toiletries. Breakfast was nice and a good opportunity to chat with Roel and Lucienne. Highly recommended. more

Stayed here for the final 2 nights of our 2-week trip. The location of Plumwood is great, within easy walking distance of the main street in Franschhoek. The owners, Lucienne and Roel, were just lovely - genuine, friendly and helpful. They were on hand throughout our stay and booked us into restaurants at the last minute and organised a great... more

We stayed here for four nights in October and it was absolutely delightful, from the very spacious room with fabulous bathroom, to the sumptuous home-cooked muffins, breads and jams for breakfast - all contributed to a lovely haven in this beautiful town. Can't recommend it enough. more

Nice homebaked bread and wonderful muffins, different breakfast every day. The rooms are very well appointed and beautifully decorated. Attention to the details. In 2wks we stayed at 7 different accommodations, as we traveled around the Western Cape and the Plumb Wood Inn came out on top. Everything was perfect, the location, the guest house, the food. The owners made a special effort to make you feel at home, they would give you advice on where to go in Franschhoek and the surounded... more

We stayed in July at the start of a trip to South Africa, and were very happy with our first impressions. The 2 buildings and the rooms are beautiful and Hazel is very welcoming. However, recent work to fix some pluming or similar issues meant that our power went off when it rained. This was not explained to us fully... more

This guest house is situated within easy walking distance of the shops and restuarants in Franschhoek. We stayed in a standard room but it was luxurious, with loads of cushions on the bed and underfloor heating in the gorgeous bathroom. Hazel was very welcoming and on checking in gave us loads of useful information about Franschhoek and what we could... more
