If you can get a room on the 4th, or better, the 5th floor, you get a nice view of the valley below and the mountains on the other side. We went in July and the breeze kept the room cool and fresh. We went during the week, so things were quiet. I suspect the whole area is busy on weekends as it's close to Bangkok. Otherwise, I think the other reviews are accurate.

We booked through Agoda after looking at the photos and reviews on thier website which were missleading at best, We booked a suite for two nights which consisted of livingroom, bedroom with ensuite bathroom and separate shower room Everything in the room was dated and in disrepair from threadbare carpets, tatty sofa to faulty taps and bathroom fittings The balcony had a great view which the pidgeons obviously enjoyed as they had left their poo everywhere On the upside , the wifi was good, the staff at breakfast were a good laugh and the hotel is near Kao Yai Countryclub Golf Course I would not recommend this hotel, which at one time must have been beautiful, but is now sadly rundown and not worth the money.....Agoda must share some blame for this as the photos on their website do not reflect this in any way

The hotel locates close to Khao Yai National Park. So, the trip to the Park and interesting places near by are easy and convenient. The building that I stayed is well maintenance in a good shape. It is similar to when I visited 10 years ago. The guest room is big, clean and comfort. The wi-fi is free-of-charge and available at all the hotel area. The breakfast was served in western style and Thai style and it is OK and fair. There is an amusement park near by which visitor can enjoy (charge applied). There are also the Greenery hotel and another new hotel in the same area.

Nothing really stands out here except that it is probably a good base from where to take day trips into the Khao Yai and Pak Chong areas. Like another reviewer mentioned, this an old place, and it shows in every aspect. The rooms are of a good size and offers nice view, but the carpet has plenty of wear and tear, the bathtub has peculiar stains, the hot water is not always that, the toilet requires multiple flushes, big cockroach (found 1), etc. The service is not spot on, with mix-up about breakfast orders common. No buffets here. In fact, the place is kind of dead throughout the day when I suppose people leave to sightsee in the area. There is no mentionable restaurant facilities, though they list a couple. One thing good about Mandarin is that it is certainly quiet. If that is what you are after, then you will love it here.

This place it's quite ok according to its price. The building is old, but clean and well kept. Service is quite good (only in Thai and rough English). Food was quite good as well. The hotel is located pretty close to the entrance of the National Park (Khao Yai) and it has a nice pool, half way dead elevators and some nice gardens. Behind it there is a pretty cool looking limestone and it is next to the Life -amusement- Park and the Greenery Resort. This is a building that has lots of interesting details, decoration and a passed history of greatness... All and all, I believe it is a good choice. We stayed 2 weeks during the floods of Bangkok (November 2011) and the owner was pretty kind and accommodating with a long-tern price, I thank her for that... she is a pretty sweet lady.

Stopped here on spec looking for an overnight stop. The entrance looked grand, but my suspicions were aroused as the place was uncannily quiet. The check in area was large and welcoming. We asked to see a room. It smelt musty, the bed sheets were old and ripped. But the test for me is always the bathroom. This one had black mould all around the bath and a very dirty shower head. We then left and found the Korat Resort Hotel not far away. In fact the check in girl suggested it!

We booked for two days with their website saying they had wifi which was important to my business and when arrived no wifi or computer to check emails. The room is dated and could use remodel. Nice big deck but no chairs to relax and enjoy the view. Good location close to National Park but really no charm at all and breakfast was not good , I had American and my fiancee had the Thai and both where a disappointment. Has a nice big pool thats a plus but all the same had to call down for towels. Just seemed to be missing the easy things that could have made the stay so nice. Found so many small hotels that where cheaper and wished I'd looked a little more.
