Chama, NM has been one of my favorite places for many years. Getting a chance to stay there again was great, but getting to stay with Wendy and Bonsil was an extra added treat, (excuse me Bonsil if I misspelled.} We were greeted with all the hospitality of long lost friends. The house is quaint and gorgeous with many beautiful... More

Wendy & Bonsall went all out making us comfortable, even taxiing us around town when it was too far to walk. The location is convenient--only about 1/2 block from the train station & most of the shops are within easy walking distance. We chose the Pullman room & were very happy with that choice. We had intended to use the... More

Wendy and Bonsall are a lovely couple and made our stay relaxing and special. The architecture and interior decorating of the house goes along well with the quaint, small-town, railroad town feel. Breakfast was delicious as was the luxurious bath I took the night before.

My husband and I are staying here at this very moment, and I wanted to provide "room tips" for future travelers. We chose the Palmer room because I was afraid the Pullman room's advertised whirlpool bath might not have a proper showerhead (a situation we encountered at a B&B in California). The bathroom in the Palmer room is a converted... More

We could not have been happier with our stay. Besides a great room and breakfast, we came back from our train trip in the rain and the owner was there to greet us with an umbrella and car to take us back to our car that we had left at the B&B. Talk about going out of their way to... More

We came to Chama to ride the railroad and found it to be beautiful, well worth the trip and highly recommended. Unfortunately, the Parlor Car, although the most convenient spot to stay, was sadly in need of updating, both inside and out. It is rather pricey for what was a very good breakfast, but little else. I generally enjoy staying... More

I regret that you and Douglas were disappointed with your stay! We appreciate feedback from our guests and would have enjoyed visiting with you about our shortcomings. We have had people tell us that we should raise our rates for what we offer. Obviously it is a matter of perspective. We try to make ourselves available to our guests for... More

I recently stayed at the Parlor Car and was somewhat disappointed. I'm not sure how old the advertising photo is, but based on the size of the trees, overgrown condition and lack of landscape maintenance that this photo was taken many many years ago (probably over 10). This B&B is NOT air conditioned and although a fan is provided in... More

Thank you for ypur comments Douglas. The week that you were here we had temperatures in the ninties which is unheard of here. Today it is 70 degrees. We had a very dry Spring with no rain and the well which operates our sprinkler system would not operate properly(not enough water) so everything started to die and our lawn got... More

When you ride the C&T and it's just the two of you, spend a bit more and ride in the Parlor Car. When you need a convenient place to stay with a pretty good breakfast, stay at the Parlor Car B&B. Wendy and Bonsall are what it's all about - more than the location and more than the accommodations. It's... More

What is a Bed & Breakfast? Just a place to stay and a quick meal? No Its an opportunity to be welcomed into someone's home. The Parlor Car is just a place. We were welcomed as long lost relatives (the good kind). The hosts are gracious and the home is warm and inviting. The room is large and comfortable and... More
