We were an eight-person (including an infant) traveling group who were caught by a sudden white-out blizzard as we were were passing through Chama on our way to Pagosa Springs, Colorado. The Chama Trails Inn owners put us up for the night at a reasonable rate in two rooms. As it turned out, they were a godsend to us with... more

We recently traveled throughout New Mexico and Colorado for a 2-week vacation. We chose the Chama Trails Inn because of an outstanding review on Trip Advisor that has since been removed. It compared the Inn to 3 and 4-star resorts which is just ridiculous. Chama is a delightful town but the inn is just an average roadside motel. The woman... more

We booked the place based on Trip Advisor reviews in June. Great internet access. We had no problems with screens, room or anything; but we could hear the guests above us - even when they walked up the stairs. The highway noise was horrible. Stay here only if you do not want to sleep. more

Our room had major plumbing problems. The hotel is right along the highway, lots of noise. Our room had a lot of little things which were broken and not maintained. The owner decided to play music and sing along to it outside on Saturday. These was painful to listen to. There was plenty of parking space as there were only... more

We had room #15, Nice upstairs room, clean, king size bed. Nice and comfortable. No a/c, so we left the windows open. The problem was that there is a large hole in the screen and bugs came in. The shutters were broken, so even if you wanted a little block from the bright lights from the gas staton which is... more

My wife and I stayed there for two nights, arriving mid afternoon and then heading for the scenic RR the next day. The owner was very nice, and assigned us to room #15 upstairs. the room was large, with a king size bed, comfortable mattress, and wonderful linens/comforter. The room had a gas heater which we did not need. The... more

We booked this Inn at the last minute when we realized we would need to overnight in Chama. This small motel is GREAT. Chester and his wife has put so many unique touches in the rooms from the beams in the ceiling and carved trim to the New Mexico furniture. The beds are wonderfully comfortable with high quality linens and... more

My husband and I recently took the Cumbres & Toltec train ride and needed a place to stay in Chama. Through Trip Advisor I decided on the Chama Trails Inn. Thanks again, Trip Advisor!
