We love to camp and stay in camping cabins, so we weren't expecting pristine conditions. On the outside it looks like a quaint cabin, however on the inside it was a decrepid trailer. We discovered a filthy stained sofa, two sagging chairs (one with a huge cigarette burn in the seat), stained wornout sheets, blankets with burn marks, filthy stove,... More

This place has Cabins and rooms spread out on the Rio Chama for fun and fishing. The property is big and easy to get away from other people. I recomend staying here for your stay and they even have a cafe on property if you dont feel like cooking in one of the cabins with kitchens.

Awesome for dogs, love the river and walking path right behind the lodge. Staff truly enjoys having Human and K9 guests! Bag of treats and a book by their own Travelin Jack waiting. We are going back for sure!

This was one of the lovliest stays on a 3 week roadtrip around USA my friend and I took this summer. We arrived late in the evening but the lady at the reception was very understanding and nice. A room was big, wood made us feel like we are on a mountain trip with Don Draper, a design in the... More

I planned to visit Chama, New Mexico with my two dogs (an Australian Shepherd & Toy Poodle) because our Kennel has been looking at Chama to host our Reunion. I met Jill Lane and was welcomed with open arms & treats for my dogs. I fell in LOVE with my Cabin! Go there - it is not fancy but so... More

This was the second year in a row we spent in a clean, neat little cabin at the Elkhorn Lodge. The host, Jim, was very helpful and friendly. Our cabin was across from the river and we really enjoyed our time there. We plan on spending time there for many years to come. This was a great memory for our... More

I just spent the weekend in Chama New Mexico and stayed at the Elkhorn Lodge in one of the bigger cabins and really enjoyed my stay. The cabin was nice and clean and had an old rustic feel to it. The staff was very pleasant and welcoming I also brought my dog who also enjoyed his stay. The property has... More

My daughter and I stayed here for a couple of nights in one of the cabins. I booked it in advance because I wanted to have a "real" mountain cabin experience without being too rustic for a 6 year old. Check in was ok and the staff was pleasant. The river is right behind the lodge and there is a... More

There's a friendly dog living there, which is why the review is "poor" and not "terrible." My husband booked one room & we wound up with another, with the reason offered being that the requested room wasn't ready (which was scary, because the one we got wasn't truly ready for prime time either). In its defense, our room was fair-sized... More

We stayed in 2nd floor hotel room #34. They should pitch the chairs inside the room (grungy) and replace the rocker on the balcony (splintery, falling apart). The place is in dire need of maintenance. Price was $89 +tax, which is really too high for this room. No a/c, which is normally not needed in Chama any way, but would've... More
