My husband and I go to the lodge often for brunch. The restaurant Rebecca’s is amazing! Their Sunday brunch is our favorite. The main room is very cozy and furnished well with a large fireplace as the center focus point. We try to get there a little early for our reservations just to sit and relax in their main room.... We stayed at the Retreat, which is a separate building on the Lodge grounds. The room was large. There was a small kitchenette, a separate bedroom with a queen size bed, a large room with two double beds, a big bathroom, a gas fireplace, and a balcony. The room was a standard motel room, but clean and comfortable. The view... More

This is a historic hotel, very well maintained and just oozes charm! Every room is different so there is no cookie cutter approach like modern hotels. Rooms are well-appointed, though some of them are small. Rebecca's, the dining room, serves some of the best food in New Mexico. And the Lodge is high in the Sacramento Mountains above Alamogordo so... More

Cloudcroft was a logistically-convenient stop for us on a long trek, and we didn't know what to expect with this hotel. We were in for a real surprise. The restaurant was awesome! Also, the hotel staff was friendly and helpful, and the rooms were very comfortable. The room we stayed in was small (i.e. normal sized without the usual wasted... More

Set 9000 feet above the baking plains of Alamogordo, the Lodge exudes a pleasant aura of coolness and serenity. The common areas have that homey lodge feeling that encourages comeraderie among those who are staying here. However, like many vintage hotels, the rooms are VERY,VERY Small. To be fair, they are nicely decorated with period furnishings and they maximize the... More

We stayed at the lodge in the second week of October. The weather and scenery around Cloudcroft were very pleasant with the aspens starting to turn. The lodge does not seem quite as well maintained as it was a few years ago, but it is still quite acceptable and still a fine choice for people who enjoy historic hotels. The... More

The views are fabulous and service was wonderful. The golf course is beautiful and if you do not golf it is a wonderful opportunity to bird watch while riding along with someone who does. A very serene and relaxing place to be. Did not want to leave, was there last week of Aug. and the days were warm but not... More

Think of a hunting lodge, with gracious common rooms, coloured glass windows and rather heavy antique furniture. Add friendly staff. Supplement with a great restaurant and wide views. We stayed in The Pavillion which has rustic character, is rather old, and is a short walk/drive away, but rooms are completely satisfactory and somehow it was a more authentic location -... More

We are very pleased that you had a good stay. We are happy to report that the swimming pool deck and the back walkway are complete. They look (and feel) wonderful! The rooms at The Pavilion normally include breakfast, but a package deal may change that condition. This is normally discussed at the time of reservation and we will provide... More

situated at an altitude of nearly 9,000 feet this hotel was particularly breathtaking. The grounds including the outdoor games areas were beautiful and well-kept, as were the common areas and guestrooms. The staff were extremely welcoming and thorough, and food in Rebecca's restaurant was delicious and served by well-skilled and pleasant staff - all together this was a lovely experience... More

Quiet and peaceful. You must eat in the dining room if you come, fabulous meal. My wife and I enjoyed a couples massage. Get the key at the desk and go up in the tower for one of the best views I have ever seen (White Sands, Tularosa Basin). Took a walk on the golf course in the evening and... More
