I've stayed here several times. The rooms are sweet and it feels more like someone's guest bedroom (in a good sense) than a hotel - homey, individual decor in the rooms, real books on the bookshelves. The porch is a great place to sit and visit or have a glass of wine. In the fall and spring it's lovely, but... more

Me and my adult kids had a couple of rooms for the night. One of the highlights of the trip was sitting on the porch of the LL sipping wine, talking and watching the mountains. Great location. We enjoyed the little bar next door. And the little pastry / coffee shop (The LL cafe was closed ). The only hitch... more

Just spent one night on our way through town. It's a nice quaint little place. Our room had a bunch of books in it, which was a nice touch. It is one of the more affordable places in town, and worth the money. I do remember the heater in our room being a bit noisy. more

My friend and I saw the sign for the Laughing Lizard Inn and Cafe while driving between Albuquerque and Bandelier National Monument. We were able to book a room with two beds and enjoyed a 24 hour visit to the area. The Laughing Lizard is a funky motel/ restaurant, with artistically rendered drawings on the walls of the motel, and... more

We found our room quite quaint, a bit like staying in a room at your Grandmother's home. The people who run the inn are very sweet and we couldn't have asked for better in keepers. I would however like to advise people of some things that are not on their website: The rooms have no air conditioning and the summer... more

Ok so the place is a little run down and the mattresses on the beds have seen better days but the Laughing Lizard is so quaint New Mexico. They have a great restaurant and a very helpful staff. The rooms have lots of books to read. Good place for a romantic getaway without paying Santa Fe prices. more

The Laughing Lizard is the most memorable and charming place that we have ever stayed! Tucked away in the quiet, little town of Jemez Springs, the rooms look across to a steep canyon wall. We sat on the front porch and breathed in the quiet. We've been home for a week, but the peaceful memories linger. The restaurant gets a... more

The food is creative, delicious and entirely homemade, including their long list of decadent desserts! Espresso, beer and wine served with a smile. Prices entirely reasonable. The motel rooms are simple, clean and comfortable, not to mention the least expensive in the area. They even stock their rooms with books! This fun-loving place in the beautiful mountains of northern NM... more

This amazing little restaurant is staffed by the most humorous, friendly people who are only too willing to explain exactly what you are about to stuff down your throat. The cuisine is excellent, and the banter between the staff and between the customers makes for one of the most relaxed and enjoyable evenings I have ever experienced. I'll be back! more

My sister, mom and I stayed here a few years ago and I still think of it often. The people were so nice, the room was like home and the food was awesome! The drive to the Laughing Lizard was absolutely beautiful (we were there in the fall). It was a great experience staying in this little, quiet town. I... more
