The peacefulness of the area was expressed beautifully by the inviting professional staff as soon as I entered the entrance. I particularly appreciated the owners hospitality that was filled with warmth and pride. I usually carry a can of Lysol with me when traveling but I must say this B and B was fresh and spotless. I felt that I... more

Our only regret was that we didn't book 2 nights. The bed & breakfast is rather rustic, with fairly small rooms, but the main building is lovely and the grounds very serene. There is a big screen TV in the sitting room and many DVD's to watch if you want to. When we were shown around the grounds at check... more

Our room was tiny, with no place to put luggage or much of anything else. The main attractions seemed to be the pool and hot tub, but for a couple of fat middle aged guys these didn't seem so alluring. Something sad and forlorn hung about the whole place, like they were about to go bankrupt. At about $150 a... more

This inn is the perfect get-a-way. Tucked away in the mountains, it reflects serenity and peace. The owners and staff are friendly and knowledgable about the area. The breakfast was excellant, healthy and plentiful. Very homey and comfortable with a help yourself presence. The rooms open onto a lovely courtyard with hot tub. I will definitely stay there if in... more

Jemez springs is lucky to have such a first class bed and breakfast. The great room is filled with Native American artifacts and contemporary art. I stayed in the Navajo room and it was spotless, and carefully decorated. The bed, a king, was perfect for a good night's sleep. I defiitely recommend Canon del Rio. Have an in-house massage while... more

For $135 a night they should have better mattresses! The queen size mattress in the "Towa" room was bottom of the line in mattresses and the box spring was very old. The fact that someone went to the trouble to put a huge piece of plywood between the mattress and box spring says it all. I could actually feel the... more

Our experience was unlike the others posted. My wife and I wanted a short getaway with the goal of reading, pool time, and relaxation. The NYT review influenced our decision to choose this location. From the moment we arrived to the common area we felt unwelcome. No one greeted us or said hello. We felt like we were interrupting the... more

A Must Stay!! The owners are VERY helpful and extremely nice. The rooms are clean and comfortable. There are no phones or TV's in the rooms, which was OK with us. There is however, a big screen TV in the lobby if you must. The breakfast was awesome. Served promptly at nine and very tasty. Snacks, drinks, fruit at your... more

I was here for a night with a friend for just one night. Located on the banks of the Jemez River, Canon del Rio is a hidden gem. Only six rooms allow for a quiet, restful stay. Art is scattered throughout the grounds as are benches and tree swings for enjoying your morning coffee. Dagna's amazing breakfast kept us fueled... more

My mom and I visited Canon del Rio in June 2007 and thoroughly enjoyed the Inn's restful spirit. Our room was clean and had lovely native artifacts and decor. We loved walking on the surrounding trails and watching hummers in the courtyard. The breakfast was great, and the host arranged on site massages with a great local massage therapist. We... more
