Where to begin? We reserved a queen room via hotels.com. That was about the only thing which was accurate. There was a queen bed. The room smelled. The carpet and bathroom floor were dirty. This is very old place that has been well maintained (except pool is no longer in use). Grounds are park-like, nice chairs and benches to sit and read under the beautiful trees. No street noise. This is a very old-fashioned motel with great retro-style. Very friendly, pleasant service. It's not brand new, but well maintained and full of charm. Great value for the price and close to everything in Taos. We couldn't have made a better choice. more

Old time motor lodge looks like it was built over 50 years ago and probably was. But nicely updated and the King room we stayed in had a fireplace with wood and starter provided by the Lodge. We used to stay here whenever we came to Taos because of the excellent location and quaint 50's charm. However, our last few visits found less-than-clean rooms (especially the bathroom) and we found that we could stay in a much nicer place for just a few dollars more.
