We had one of the courtyard rooms and thought it was excellent. Large and spacious with charm and character. The location was perfect, right on the plaza with a nice bar to sit and watch the Taos bustle, A great pity that the much touted restaurant was definitely not up to scratch. Poor service, worse food. Try Grahams grill opposite... more

The place is beautiful and has a perfect location right across from the Taos Plaza and near galleries and museums. It's the place to stay in Taos. The nightly entertainment was a great plus. more

the only positive for this hotel is the location. the room had the most uncomfortable bed and we left a day early because of it. when we checked out a day early the staff didn't even ask why we would leave a day early and still pay for the second night. obviously they are not concerned with their guests. more

This place is vastly overrated. We were greeted by unfriendly staff, who couldn't have cared less if we were there or not. Our room had some charm, but was dark and had very poor lighting (don't other people read any more?). We ate dinner and breakfast in the hotel and were dissapointed on both occassions. My wife's dinner was cold... more

This hotel is in a great location. Right in the middle of it all and very close to the plaza. Parking was plentiful and free. We stayed in the Sandoval house which had a cute little courtyard. Our room was small with a double bed, but we knew that at booking. The room was clean. Just a couple of negatives... more

We chose the hotel because of its central location, next to Taos Plaza, and because of its historic character. Both were true! The hotel is a complex of low adobe houses with a series of green patios, that make it a green and relaxing oasis in the midst of lively Taos. Although the exterior of the building doesn't look that... more

When a bad Lenny Kravitz guitar, meets a wanna be Ringo, fronted by a screatching cat, that was our ONE evening at the Horrific Taos Inn. A hotel review you say? Well yes, most hotel rooms are bigger than 8 x 10 (inluding the bath), have a TV purchased within the past decade, have an A/C unit that is able... more

The Taos Inn: Everything about our stay here was good. The staff walked us to our room, which was nice and clean. The hotel had wifi so I was able to check my email while at the same time getting a patron magarita. It was walking distance to all of the shops that we liked, and also had a good... more

I came to the Inn with my parents and my boyfriend and can not even say how great it was! We stayed in the courtyard where this 30ft tall tree was in full bloom, and the gardens were amazing. Breakfast in Doc Martin's Restaurant had wonderful ethnic as well the usual favorites. Try the Kit Carson. Yam biscuits with poached... more

We've been staying here annually for nearly 20 years, so I'm clearly biased. The Historic Taos Inn is our kind of hotel: small, charming, somewhat funky, warm decor, friendly service, reasonable prices, good drinks and food in the lobby bar, great restaurant (Doc Martin's), a front courtyard in which you can sit and watch the endless stream of trucks driving... more
