The Lodge is not a bad value deal but we had some problems with the boiler room next to our room which kept us up all night. I called the front desk who sent a night watchman down but he didn't want to wait long enough for the noise to re-occur. The pump was getting air and as a result... More

I read the different reviews, and most of em underrated this hotel. This place was clean, no bed bugs, honest manager, warm hot breakfast (not a continental), and shuttle to Tao Ski Resort. This was a good value. More

I was traveling to Taos on business and decided to stay in a place with which I was familiar. I had previously stayed at the Kachina about 20 years ago, and it was great. Unfortunately, nothing has changed in the intervening 20 years, and the place is in serious disrepair. The rooms were seriously in need of renovation. When I... More

You mention your stay here 20 years ago, you say it was great. You also said; nothing has changed? We have done many renovations at the Kachina since you were here. A vacuum was left in the middle of the room and a cart outside. This sounds as if the maid was not finished cleaning the room. You should not... More

We stayed at the Kachina lodge in May 2009. At that time it was part of the Best Western chain and they said they were going to improve the facilities, which were in decline. i note that in Dec. 2011, they have lost there Best Western affiliation. It sounds like not much has happened in 18 months or so, except... More

We want to thank you for your feed back. We are happy to receive both negative and positive feed back it helps us to grow. After a long while and careful thought we decided that we could do the same as Best Western or better on our own and we are. I am sure that many of our guests would... More

This hotel was affordable and located very close to the Plaza. There was lots of shopping and food nearby. That being said...this place is old, funky, and in serious need of a redo. There were three women staying in the room for the recent Fiber Festival, and they gave us 2 washcloths. When we requested more we were told that... More

We were tired after a long day of driving, we checked in around 6:00, they put us in a room located at the very back of the hotel, the room was clean, spacious, but did have a smell to it, we did not feel comfortable being at the very back, there were very few customers that evening, I called the... There are some that write reviews with an eagerness to bash a place and there are others that do it because they wish to give a clear picture of the reality of a situation, unbiased and without malice. I would like to believe I am the latter of the two. What a dreadful experience I had staying at this lodge.... More

Because of the gorgeous surroundings, expansive grounds and fairly central location, and if you can score a good price, this is where we shoot to stay in Taos. Visit the bar and talk to Drew, the tender there, for good advice about Taos, and his haunted house he lives in. More

We just went to the bar for a couple of drinks. Bo, the bartender, made the best pinacolda I have ever had. He is very welcoming and makes the visit enjoyable. More
