In our two week tour of the Western Cape we stayed in some lovely guest houses and we enjoyed them all, except for this one. Sea Star Lodge was the most expensive by far, at least 30% more than any of the other places we stayed in, including Cape Town It was also the most disappointing, and the room we... More

A great place to stay, spacious, light and comfortable. The staff were most helpful and friendly, they arranged all our dinner reservations and even a scuba diving trip for us in Hermanus. If you can, book the roof top room with the big patio.

There is plenty to be positive about Seastar Lodge and the Staff are excellent .However we had difficulty before we went in discening how many rooms there were and what they were called. After establishing what we could(at this stage we had paid a non returnable deposit) we reqiested the Rooftop room as we wanted the outdoor space to enjoy... More

Pictures of the house appear on the water, but the house is in fact located in the 2nd row of houses. Avoid the expedition room as there is only room for the bed. The house has a noisy covernous interior and we were awoken to loud echoing speaking from other guests returning late at night. The guesthouse is frequented by... More

I was a little dissapointed with the lodge for the following reasons. 1. I thought it was going to be run more like a hotel, but really is a bed and breakfast type establishment - which I don't usually stay at. 2. Not right on the water, so the view is looking over the houses across the road. That being... More

We stayed at the Sea Star lodge for 3 nights. It is a lovely location right on the sea. Our room was gorgeous and very modern with all the mod cons. We had the best view - every morning we could see whales from our bed, was very special! The hospitality of the team running the lodge was excellent and... More

We arrived after having driven over 500 kms from Tsitsikamma via Cape Agulhas. We were greeted warmly by Clarissa who promptly made us some coffee to refresh ourselves. As it was close to dinnertime, she offered to make reservations for us and we dined at the restaurant at Bella Vista, the meal was yummy! But coming back to the accommodation,... More

We arrived early as we had flown in from the UK, the team made every effort to have the room ready which we were grateful for after a long flight. The rooms and the shared public areas are perfect - stylish but welcoming and comfortable as well. Ardi was only there the first night we were there and there was... More

Although we showed up very early, every efford to make the room ready for us was made. Also the breakfast, excellent by the way,was served before the schedulled time to us. The owner gave us the best tips to eat out, and the room facilities were great ( we had our own in-room Nespresso!). The best of all, the whales were... More

We were a couple with a 3 year old child and stayed for 2 nights in this beautiful guest house. Every single need was catered to. Wr felt just like staying in a small house. The manager Ms Brigette took special care of booking us for dinner and trying her best to book us for the whale watching boat trip.... More
