Rates from USD 560 per person per night. Northern Botswana’s famous Chobe National Park is a must-see wildlife destination accessed via Kasane Airport. Covering almost 11,000 km² (6,836 mi.²) it was the country’s first national park. A haven for wildlife in the dry season, Chobe is renowned for its large concentration of elephant and buffalo, which congregate along the Chobe River. Chobe Under Canvas is situated in the park’s northern reaches, ideally positioned close to the river. Live the adventure of a lifetime as close to nature as you can get. Our exclusive, semi-permanent campsites are perfectly situated near the Chobe River at the northern end of the Chobe National Park. The common guest area comprises a spacious tent for dining, pre-dinner drinks, or simply whiling away the time between game viewing adventures with a good book and a frosted beer or glass of wine. Delicious meals cooked over the coals are shared around a blazing fire. You’ll love the spaciousness of our mobile tents. Each of the five canvas tents boasts a comfortable double or twin bed, as well as an ensuite bathroom, separate flush WC and an outdoor bucket shower – steaming hot water is available on request. A private butler is on hand to assist with any requirements. Well-worn game paths that meander through the safari tents and down to the water’s edge hold the promise of up-close-and-personal sightings. *The photographic boat cruise on the Chobe River is only available if guests are staying for two or more consecutive nights.

Chobe Under Canvas a mobile clamping experience with AndBeyond group not to be missed. Although it was December , in the rainy season, and hot. The experience with the migrating birds and newly born animals is amazing. accommodation and staff are excellent. Glamping experience top notch, without you doing anything. Topping the experience of with Photographic tour with pangolin safaris on the Chobe river, just one word wow.

An experience of a lifetime with Kevin, Mala and the team. Hearing the lions roar at night from your tent is something never to be forgotten, but you felt safe at every moment. The camp team were great fun and the food was fantastic. The intimate and up close interactions with the elephants, lions, giraffe and buffalo to name a few were breathtaking. An experience not to be missed at Chobe!

There are no words to describe how incredible this experience was! The team that looked after us were all fantastic so helpful and friendly. The food was delicious! We had 14 lions walk past our camp at night which was an awesome experience but the team looked out for our safety at all times. So many birds to see and beautiful scenery along the river. Can definitely recommend if you’re up for an adventure and getting close to nature. The photographic boat Safari that was included was a brilliant experience with great tips given with top quality canon cameras. You get to keep the SD card too which was fab.

&Beyond is exactly the experience we had. From the moment we were pick up from Kasane airfield. We started with a game drive we our much-experienced host, driver, and guide. He showed us lions, Leppard, birds, and off course the elephants which are many. Then on to our tented camp in the middle of the bush. A warm welcome and a lovely lunch and our home for the days to come. After lunch we are off into the bush again for new animals and new experiences. The day ends with a lovely bush shower a drink at the fireplace and great dinner. &Beyond it is. All days where as great as the first with a special morning on a boat trip with cameras on tripod with seats. Even for an experienced photographer a wonderful moment of learning and seeing wildlife from a different angle. Thanks to the whole crew we loved our stay at &Beyond

This was our first camp on a month long Safari adventure and what a great way to start. It’s a real camping experience but the tents are really comfortable with a nice bed, a real toilet, not sure how they pull that off, and a bucket shower with hot water every evening before dinner. The food was wonderful cooked by Simon, especially the desserts. It was very hot and the rains hadn’t started yet. The game in Chobe was amazing including two lion prides with Cubs, a herd of Cape Buffalo that had to be at least 600 roaming along the river, huge herds of game and elephants along the river. Our guide Tony was funny, informative and always able to find incredible viewing nearly all the time. We had a picture taking boat ride on the river with game to see minute by minute! We spent 3 nights there which we felt was perfect as it gave us two full days. The tents make the early morning sounds of the bush readily available and laying in bed for a few minutes listening to the chorus of birds and animals is a wonderful experience. We found a combination of tents and chalets to be the perfect approach but overall we preferred tents.

This is a unique experience. Hemingway type tents (on the ground) -- with a bathroom at the back. No electricity (lights are battery powered). Flush toilet and bucket showers. The game drives are fabulous. Our guide (Big Mike) was very experienced and skilled. On our "scenic" tour from airport to the camp we saw lions, giraffe, hippo, water buffalo and elephants (3 of the big five on first drive!) We had a photo safari and learned so much that I now know how to use my Nikon better. Of course, we got great pictures of all sorts of animals and birds. Subsequent game drives revealed leopard, jackal, and close experiences with elephants and tracking a lion looking for his brother (both he and we found the brother). Mike pointed out all the birds and we took home good pictures and a bird list. We also saw rare Sable and Roan antelope. Awesome! The staff treated us well, with delicious food (fresh baked rolls in a dutch oven each day). Of course, no options at meals but it was all so good, no worries on that point. All in all -- it was camping in the best sense, drinks around the campfire each night and breakfast cooked over the fire in the morning. We heard lions roaring at night and the birds woke up with us each morning. Lovely! Highly recommended.

Nice experience with wonderful staff. Entire staff would greet us with with song and dance when returning from every game drive. In other Botswana camps, we would get this on first arrival (and never in S. Africa camps), but we would be greeted enthusiastically on every return to camp - very fun, very special. This was our only mobile camp, and therefore most basic of the 6 camps of our trip (all &Beyond), but was nice and they worked to make us comfortable; very dedicated staff. There were some issues that could have been avoided (otherwise would have given 5 stars). The most notable was a couple in the camp that had an early morning flight and their ride was to stay at the camp overnight, but did not and changed to be there early the next morning. But the driver was late to camp so the couple came on game drive and were were to meet the ride and transfer during game drive. But the other vehicle did not have a radio and where delayed in connecting. Couple was at risk of missing their flight, which made for a very tense game drive (which was not much of a game drive). But we had a great time otherwise, and the Pangolin boat tour was one of the best experiences of our 3 week trip (included with a 2 night stay at Chobe under canvas), and got some of my best pictures on this tour. I used my own gear, but they provide pretty decent gear not this tour - 150-600mm lens with crop sensor DSLR (great tour for me, but also great for someone new to photography - my wife got great photos as well using gear provided). Though this tour is not run by camp, they get you to an from it on game drive.

What a great experience. Our first trip to Africa, Botswana. Our guide Tony, the whole staff they were incredibly friendly and took really good care of us. The game drives were fantastic except the fact that there were sometimes too many cars driving around. However Tony managed to show us so many wonderful animals. We really felt the thrill and adrenaline when we saw a warthog piglet getting chased and killed by a leopard. We felt it again when the impalas barked their alarm for a lioness on the hunt. She didn’t succeed. And what I’ll never forget was the sight of almost 500 elephants at the riverside, taking their bath, drinking and playing.

We stayed here the first week in November for two nights. It is an experience that I wouldn’t pass up. There were only 4 tents when we were there. They move them every 6 days and what a labor intensive job based on on the details that we found in our tent. Very nice accommodations for being out in the middle of a reserve. We saw just about every animal possible on our first game drive into the camp from the airport! Or so I thought.....on the following drives we even encountered a Civet and Honey Badger! Our guide, Michael, who is fairly new to the company was EXCEPTIONAL. I nicknamed him, my Human Google. He knew it all. We also had a surprise Photo Safari done by Pangolin Tours that was awesome. Michael joined us on this as well. Got to see some great birds on this part of the trip as well. The rest of the staff were also wonderful. Food was good being cooked over an open fire. Bug spray is provided. As well as Swarovski binoculars to use. Tips: The weather was triple digits when we were there. I am not sure I could have done more than the two nights based on that heat in addition to the fact that I am not a camper. Our trip started here and our accommodations improved as our trip went on. I would not end with a trip here.

This safari camp gives the full outdoor experience. These are actual tents with great beds and inside toilets. The food, vehicles and guides were great! The wildlife was varied and very close. We had elephants outside our tent during the night. They move the campsite every five days but all locations should be equally exciting.
