Background: Savute Lodge is a small 12 cabin "lodge" located in the arid and dry southern part of Chobe National Park along a long ago dried up river. We were assigned Cabin 2 (if you can, choose cabins 3 or 4 for the best views of the main waterhole). We chose this lodge, because we had been to the northern... more

Savute was a 2 night stay as part of our honeymoon. Everything from the pickup at the airstrip to the dropoff was perfect. The management were very professional, the catering staff and the food were amazing. Our guide Gwist was a top man, providing us not only with amazing sights and expertise but also a beer and a G&T at... more

The Entire Staff knows your names and sits at dinner with you. You are treated like family. The food was spectacular and in limitless supply. Request a room with a view of the watering hole and you will never forget this place. Elephants can be seen 12 meters away from the pool and eating area at almost all times of... more

This was my 2nd visit to Savute - I had loved it so much the first time that I was dying to go back and it didn't disappoint again. I absolutely love the lodge - the rooms are spectacular with a private terrace overlooking watering holes that are visited daily by elephants and other thirsty animals. The front walls of... more

We were there in October. Clouds were building up for rainy season. But it was very dry and the elephants were very dependent on the man made water holes at the camp. All day and night there were at least a couple dozen elephants with elephants coming and going all the time. During the day time it was mostly male... more

We stayed at Savute Safari Lodge for two nights in August. Ask for one of the rooms overlooking the elephant watering hole - not the freshest smelling, but well worth it to sit on your deck and be right next to the elephants! Our guide Gee was wonderful. They warn at all the camps not to walk alone at night,... more

We stayed in the savuti safari lodge on our honeymoon. Absolutely loved it. Great food, great accommadation and lovely staff. Our chalet looked over a waterhole where elephants were frequent visitors. There is no heating and it's very cold in the mornings in June/July so would recommend bringing plenty of warm clothes if you're visiting at that time. more

I’ve stayed at Savute Safari lodge for 3 nights in August and simply loved it, this camp exceeded all my expectations, it’s an absolutely amazing camp with plenty of wild life all around. When we arrived we were met by our guide, Energy, and the lodge managers, Craig and Janine, that showed us the lodge facilities, and our rooms….that were... more
