Jack's is the place to go if you want the real meerkat experience up front. For that, it does not disappoint. I liked the rustic feel but can understand how some guests may be disillusioned with the rooms and lack of electricity. Yes, it is annoying not be able to find anything or read in bed at night and yes,... more

What a shame, this could be one of the best camps in Africa. the location, the views, the camp itself with the wonderful decor, the food, the details...Everything is well though of. But then you wonder why they put people in charge of a camp who obviously don't know what hospitality is all about. The management was nothing but rude... more

If you are looking for game, this is not the place. However, we did see zebras wandering the pans with the wildebeest. The lack of electricity is not a surprise if you are informed about where you are heading. We thought it made the tent even more gorgeous! The food was fantastic, the staff kind, funny and attentive (Kara, Sasha... more

Jack's Camp is an old school type camp not a hotel in the bush like some other camps seem top be. There is nothing wrong with the other camps but in Jack's we actually felt like we were exploring. The management couple, Sasha and Gaia, were very charming and looked after all our needs, Tshaba, our guide was also great.... more

I was really excited about going to Jack's Camp because of the meerkats and the Pans. It had recently been rated 10th in the world by Traveler and my expectations were high. As is often the case, high expectations lead to disappointment. We had just been to three Wilderness Safari camps and had been really spoiled by the attentive staff... more

When we arrived at Jack's Camp, we were instantly disappointed by the unpleasant decor of the small tents, no electric lights in the tents and highly annoying, patronising and unhelpful management who had only been there one week, and therefore knew very little about anything. The activities however, were interesting and fun, and unlike anything else one could do on... more

My wife and I travelled extensively in South Africa, Namibia and Botswana. We stayed at some great places but this was our favourite. It most certainly is the most unique. The feel and ambience is colonial in style and from a bye gone area which we like very much. We were made to feel very special by the wonderful host... more

I absolutely agree with those who have given this camp a high mark! This camp is extraordinary and USD1,000+ ppn is well worth spending! I thoroughly enjoyed my 3 nights here and wish that I had stayed longer! The accommodation was comfortable and I just loved the outdoor shower so much that I only used the indoor one just once.... more

We have mixed feelings about this place, some things we really liked, others we hated. The activities are all very interesting and very different from the other camps. The landscape is beautiful and out of this world, so vast and quiet, it’s worth the visit just for this. The food, excellent, without a doubt the best of the 6 camps... more

The primary reason we went to Jack's Camp was to see the Meerkats and they did not disappoint! They are facinating, adorable creatures and we thoroughly enjoyed interacting with them. We didn't enjoy interacting with the staff members of Jack's Camp. Our group of 3 agreed that the best word to describe the staff of the camp was arrogance. They... more
