The initial impression of the new, smart tents is positive but in their quest for safari-chic the designers seem to have forgotten the basics: for example, a chair in the dressing area; a shower screen high enough to prevent splashes; a hanging space tall enough to hang shirts and dresses without their touching the shelf below. The main problem however... more

We stayed two nights at chitabe ledeba and three nights at little vumbura. Although they are both classic wilderness safari camps you cannot compare the two. Little Vumbura is far superior in accomodations and service. Chitabe main camp has been re-done but not chitabe ledeba. The rooms appear very old and the family room layout is very strange...there is a... more

This camp is outstanding. It fits in so well with the surroundings. Chitabe has a diversity compared to none.. i saw so so many animals and birds, and learnt so much from our guide Ebs(who is the best). The team at chitable are second to none, so helpful, friendly and kind . It would be your perfect destination if you need... more

This was our third of four camps. The camp is also on high ground so the walks are elevated and some of the tents are high off the ground. I love the tree top feeling and the security of being high when you hear lions roaring and hippos munching! Recently renovated, the tents were individually decorated and really beautiful! The... more

Chitabe was an experience that made us feel more like we were in the bush, while also making us feel completely comfortable and safe. The other reviews were right on except for the one that said the drives were a little boring. The only thing my wife an I will complain about on the bush drives is that they were... more

This is a very good camp with excellent accommodations, beautiful set up and professional management. The drives are great and offer a wonderful variety of scenery and game viewing. The camp will undergo a significant upgrade in mid Jan 2009 and thus the management seemed a bit too focused on that. While the camp is quite good, it could tighten... more

Four of us stayed in Chitabe in June of 2008. We were told the camp was to undergo renovations in January of 2009, but the camp was still in great shape. The staff was great especially Cliff, Nick, Alice and Char. They made us feel welcome and the night at the Boma was truly an African experience. Our guide OT... more

We spent 2 days at Chitabe Lediba Camp (the small camp near the main Chitabe camp). It was a wonderful stay ! With only 5 tents, this camp creates a great intimacy between the staff and the guests, and between the guests themselves. The 2 guides (OT and Oats) are so nice and so skilled, as is the whole staff... more

Chitabe Camp is very well organized and run. Everything runs as expected and on schedule, the staff is very friendly and efficient. The game drives are good even if the game variety can at times be challenging. The tents are very comfortable, and the camp is well laid out and in a good location; the food was very good. more

This was the 2nd of 3 safari camps we stayed at during a 9 night and 10 days safari trip. We went to Kwetsani first, then Chitabe, and ended with Savuti Camp. In comparison this was personally my least favorite of the camps due to many reasons comparatively, yet it was still very nice. Out of the 3, these rooms/accommodations... more
