We hoped for a nice weekend get-away for Valentine's Day. Using the internet, we reserved a room at the Apple Tree B&B based on the room description and pictures. When we arrived there, the house was locked and no one came to the door or answered the phone. We drove to the Medbery Inn as we had been offered a room there when we had placed our reservation (we had declined the switch). When we got to the Medbery we were told that our reservation HAD been switched. The Apple Tree was not available. We were shown to a postage stamp sized room with a tiny bath. The full breakfast advertised for the Apple Tree turned into a cold, continental breakfast with a barely passable quiche. "All" this for $137.50 - in mid-February! To add insult to injury, our credit card was charged twice! A phone call to the owners did not clear up the double billing, we had to mail proof of the error and contact our credit card company. more
