Family owned and operated since 1881,The Hotel Lenhart is a charming step back in time and a unique experience. The food is delicious and the Lamplighter Lounge is a wonderful place to grab a cocktail before heading out onto the porch to sit in a rocker and gaze out at beautiful Chautauqua Lake.

The room rates include a 7-course dinner and breakfast, which atones for the missing amenities of no A/C or TVs in the rooms. Big box fans are available in all rooms and the large windows open to let in air if necessary, but we stayed on the night of July 4 and the temperature was quite comfortable, even on the third floor.

I stayed with my 13 year old daughter and saw many other children having a ball around the grounds of this lovely hotel. Definitely family friendly! more
