A short getaway in the Catskills seemed to be an interesting destination so we headed up to the river towns along the Hudson and were pleasantly surprised at this charming small B&B called The Day House.

Wayne and Bob, our congenial hosts, welcomed us into their landmark residence and provided just enough conversation and helpful information to send us happily on our way to explore the local area.

Our private double room was quiet and comfortable but the part of the house we really loved was the peaceful back garden. After running around most of the day it was very pleasant sitting outside and relaxing. Of course, when it started to rain, we settled ourselves into the comfy living room couch to pass the time. I learned that the building, originally a bank, was totally renovated by Bob, who is a designer, and transformed into this extremely tasteful residence.
