On our first trip to Cooperstown five years ago, we had reservations elsewhere, but upon arriving we found that the location was still about 10 miles outside of the Village. So, we took our chances and ventured into the middle of town and were glad to find that Tunnicliff had a room available. Well, we have returned every year since... more

Overall we were very happy with the Inn. My husband and I stayed 3 nights. The room we had was very comfortable and quiet. The location was great and so was the breakfast. I read some of the reviews before we stayed...I didn't know what to expect. We could not find anything that we disliked. They do have parking limitations... more

This place is NOT charming, quaint etc. I should have known we were in trouble when the front steps crumbled beneath my 50 pound daughter's foot. Then we were greeeted with awful almost threadbare red rugs with robinegg blue walls. Our room slanted and when I complained about it I was told I was wrong (see other reviews for confirmation)... more

This place was awful!!! My husband booked one night at this hotel and we didnt even stay! We left after less than 2 hours. It was run down, outdated, poor service, old movies, etc. The bathroom was SCARY! I was horrified. The mattress was as comfortable as a cracker. There was nothing but noise. The only thing that seemed half enticing... more

Overall, we were delighted with this inn--the staff took great care of us, from the friendly greeting and help with luggage provided by the manager and the free upgrade to a bigger room at check-in to the service at the restaurant/bar in the basement (it was like being in someone's rumpus room in the 1970s, which we thought was really... more

The Tunnicliff Inn sounds quaint and charming on its web site, and boasts all kinds of amenities such as DVD players and WiFi. But when we arrived, we found a very run-down place, with lumpy mattresses, horribly out of date bathrooms, and foam cushions on the toilet seats. I refused to take a shower because I was uncertain about the... more

My husand and I and our 7 year-old stayed at the Tunnicliff Inn for one night last week and we enjoyed it very much. The staff was very friendly, and because the larger executive king room was available, they put us up in that room at no additional charge. True, it's not the Ritz, as another reviewer said, but it... more

The Tunnicliff is in a perfect location. Everything in Cooperstown is within 3 blocks of this hotel. I found the hotel to be homey and had some nice touches. Some people in my party had some complaints, but most thought it was quaint and suitable. It's true the decor isn't what I would pick, and there were some quirks...but it's... more

In truth we booked in, paid, but did not stay...the room for which we paid something like $150/night was threadbare, with conspicuously cheap furniture, slanty floors (a dropoff of probably 8-10 inches just inside the door), and a general air of cheapness. To get to the room we had to step over piles of used linens and cleaning equipment in... more

I was very happy with the location of the inn, one of the only places to stay that is on the "main drag". I was not so happy when i walked into the room we were staying in. It was run down and musty and very dusty. There was a bed and a large air conditioning unit (not in the... more
