- Official Description (provided by the hotel):
-
This is a grand old solid stone home that was built in 1884 by a Judge and his wife, and they spared no expense with the gorgeous woodwork, the uniquely carved mantels surrounding the six fireplaces, the Library with its built-in shelves, and the "wow" cathedral ceiling. The home became a B&B in 1987 when the owner's children had grown and gone their separate ways, and she had a large home perfect for sharing with strangers. It is spacious yet inviting, and the majority of the "strangers" have become friends and have returned time and again, over the many years. There are 4 upstairs rooms that share a full bathroom and a half a bath, and a Suite downstairs with private bath and Living Room, plus two fireplaces. All are very tastefully and individually decorated and furnished, with big thick comforters to snuggle under on those cold nights. A couple of the rooms even have fireplaces in the room. Breakfast is continental style with fresh-baked muffins, fresh fruit, cereals, breads, and drinks, all included in the low price of $70 upstairs, and $100.00 downstairs. Some people have even rented the entire house so everyone visiting can stay together and have a home away from home. Plus, we offer a separate building we affectionately call the "Carriage House", that has it's own kitchenette, living room, bedroom with two double beds, and a full bathroom. So if you're looking for a nice place to stay with nice prices, check us out. And thanks for reading this!
