Stayed overnight during the weekend of Syracuse University's graduation. I was not expecting any grand hotel or inn, they charged close to $300 for a $120 room!! Way overpriced for these accomodations. Lobby was dirty, hallways smelled musty and were very dark. Would suggest a local bed and breakfast to travelers.

While visiting my mother who lives a block away, things were busy so we spent a couple nights at the Craftsman. Never intended to be a luxury resort, the Craftsman has decent rooms, furnished with Stickley and good coffee. Never compare the Limestone Grill restaurant next door with the Craftsman, different entity (see my review of that). The beds were... More

Rooms are small, but serviceable. Quiet. Stickley furniture in lobby is nice to see. Had breakfast at the hotel restaurant and found it to be the slowest restaurant service I have ever seen. Being across the street from the town shopping center was convenient, and found a restaurant there, Carrabas, which was very good.

We visited in mid January on a winter getaway holiday to the Syracuse area. We wanted to visit the Stickley museum, factory and showroom so it was very convenient. Also the inn has Stickley furnishings. Aside from the furnishings the inn it is quite plain with tight rooms. The rocking chair barely had room to rock. The staff were very friendly... More

Thank you for your kind appraisal of your stay here at The Craftsman. We're proud of our affiliation with Stickley, and are pleased to have the luxury of their timeless furnishing throughout the hotel. We look forward to seeing you on your next visit! More

We normally stay at Hotel Skylar when we visit our daughter at Syracuse University, Unfortunately, for us, they were totally booked...found this "inn" that was not too far from the University...however it was old...dirty...not updated at all and the staff was just mediocre.

When compared to the brand new , state of the art Hotel Skylar, our older country setting inn could have seemed not very up to date. It is a very different type of lodging. We do have renovations underway that would address some of your concerns about the facility seeming worn. New carpeting, painting, softwares and appointments are underway to... More

Had a very nice stay at the Craftsman. It has the charm of an upstate NY lodge with modern, comfortable amenities and is very clean. The service was excellent and although we didn't get to try the restaurant in the hotel it looked very nice and prices were pretty low. If you're in the area or even if you're going... More

I am really surprised by the overwhelming negative reviews. My boyfriend and I were here for 8 days over Christmas From the moment we checked in, the staff was nothing short of attentive and helpful. We were originally on the first floor, near a rear entrance, and could hear the door slam every time someone came in or out. The... More

I have stayed at the Craftsman Inn several times over the past 7 years. Every time I chose the Craftsman Inn I enjoyed the feeling of the warm, woody furniture, the quiet neighborhood, closeness to nearby stores and parks. The staff has always been very helpful. The hotel is a welcome change from cloned chain hotels.

We have stayed at the Craftsman sveral times over the past number of years. Each time I think that this motel has the opportunity to be excellent, but suffers from a lack of care. The rooms a decent size featuring furniture from Stickley furniture, a very high quality product. Instead of building on that quality the hotel is not terribly... More

The best part of the Craftsman Inn is its view from the driveway. Once inside you realize the carpets are stained, the decor tired, the wallpaper is pealing, the glasses in our room filthy/sticky, and my favorite part... there were stains all over the sheets/blankets. Do yourself a favor and don't stay here.
