My wife and I stayed at Patatran Village from March 11th to 15th. Patatran Village has an entirely new central building (dating from October 2006) with the usual facilities and an open dining room close to the ocean. We were there on half board. We stayed four nights in May, 2006 and really enjoyed the island and the hotel. The view of the rocks, beach. and other islands from our room and balcony was drop dead gorgeous. Travel agents visiting the island stopped in front of our little house to take pictures. The beach across the road (not much traffic....most people use bicycles)...did disappear... more

We were in La Digue in 2001 but staying at another hotel. However, we regularly walked through the Patatran Village and it looked soulless and boring, no fun being had by anyone. All that and terrible food too. Seems like it's best avoided. more

I would never recommend anyone go here. The Lonely Planet review said it was the place to eat for a treat: I can only assume a hopeless new chef has started in the interim.
