We stayed at the Townsend manor to attend a wedding. We stayed in one of the larger suites. The room was clean, the beds were comfortable and the bathroom was spotless. To be fair, the exteriors of all the buildings were badly in need of work: there was a lot of rust and peeling paint. That said, we slept well... more

This was awesome. Quite, clean. The bathroom was renovated. everything worked and the staff was friendly. One thing to consider, its quite far from the Jitney and the LIRR, so be prepared to walk with your luggage about 1 mile or so if you are not driving. Great location for Wine Tasting Via Bike. Rent bikes @ Shelter Island. No... more

I have stayed here many times over the last 30 years. This is a country inn - not a Hyatt or Holiday Inn (which I have also stayed in many times) - some of the reviewers perhaps had a mis-impression of what this is - it is part marina and part hotel - and yes, it is old (although there... more

My fiance and I stayed here for 1 night in June 2009, and we were pleasantly surprised at how nice the hotel was. We stayed in the main house, and our room was quite large, with 2 double beds, a full kitchen, a renovated bathroom, and brand new flat screen TV with a DVD player. The room was very clean... more

This place is an embarassment to all inns. When I entered thr room in the Captains house, which sounds nice and for the price I would think it is. It reeked of must and looked like it hadnt been inhabited in decades. I was scared to stay there as the door barely locked and had direct access to the busy... more

My husband and I were looking for a quick getaway that was away from the crowds and scene that is "The Hamptons". Both of us had always loved the North Fork of Long Island and remember when it was just a small hamlet. The beauty is still unsurpassed ; vineyards, horse farms, fresh produce & seafood. When we were looking... more

On a trip back east took the Long Island Railroad from New York and stayed in Greenport for two nights. I took the ferry to New London and the train to Boston. I was there the Tuesday after Memorial Day, so no crowds nice sleepy town with good food. The hotel is a group of old buildings with a marina.... more

I can't believe that anyone would stay at this place without being appalled. I booked the room about a month in advance based on the website photos. I know, not a smart thing to do but they were the only place that didn't require a 3 night minimum over the weekend. They tried to put us in the "Gingerbread House".... more

We stayed at this hotel for a family wedding. We originally booked a room with two beds (for three of us), but for some reason, they didn't have that room when we arrived. They gave us a "suite" - small apartment over the garage (and made us pay for the suite too). When we entered the "suite", the place felt... more

I booked this small trip at short notice, so this hotel was the only availability in the Greenport area for the days I needed. I booked it based on the web site photos, description and the price, figuring that $410 (+ taxes) per night for two rooms would assure me of quality accommodations. I was wrong. The hotel site, the... more
