Econolodge in Hicksville, Long island. Free breakfast was bagels, muffins, juice and coffee. There’s a cigarette smell all around the downstairs area and in hallway. Maybe downstairs room allowed smoking? Large bed. Toilet paper was very scratchy. Not a great reception or reception area but it’s somewhat cheap. I can usually get something in the vicinity through Priceline, but I was unsuccessful in bidding, so I remembered this hotel from a previous stay and decided to book a room through Southwest's site for $89. Overall I have to say that I had a good experience at this hotel. It was very convenient to relatives I was visiting in Nassau County. It's close to main roads and major highways. Breakfast was average for an Econo Lodge. For the rate I paid I wouldn't have expected waffles or eggs. There is a diner about 1/2 mile... more

We stayed in the Econo for one week in September - the room is well fitted out - a nice spacious room, microwave, fridge and standard bathroom. Breakfast was basic - bagels, tea/coffee or cereal. The amenities are also basic however given the hotel rate - value for money in the scheme of things. Hinksville is a very quiet area... more

Stayed only one night to attend US Open. Usually stay closer to Flushing but rates are going up a little to much just for a place to sleep. For the price, $89.95, it was a good choice. We were in town visiting and basically just needed a place to sleep. For the $142/night price - this place was not good. The AC unit's filter was so dirty and black. It was nearly impacted with soot, gunk, and ilk. God knows what we were breathing. We left at 8:30 a.m. to get breakfast - bags and all stayed... more
