Sunset Beach is a lovely three star hotel. It was my second time in the Gambia, last year I stayed next door - in Kombo Beach. I would certainly come back to both of them but I would probably choose Sunset Beach over Kombo Beach as it smaller and hence friendlier and cosier. It is a budget option, nothing luxurious... more

Stayed at this wonderful hotel for 5 weeks. The staff were wonderfully friendly without being too interested in me - a lone female traveller - this is rather exceptional in Gambian hotels, where I'm usually asked if I'm married. Just returned from staying at Sunset Beach Hotel, loved it. I am a 30yr old female and travelled with my best friend who is a 35yr old female. We arrived on 12th May which was just after the peak season. This is a fantastic time to go as the beautiful beach just by the hotel is completely deserted and the weahter was hot with temperatures way above 30 degrees celsius.... more
