We loved this place. The lake is a beautiful, bird-filled oasis in the desert, and the facilities are well spaced, reasonably well equipped self-catering chalets on the lake edge, and they have a restaurant too. It is owned by a collective from the local Baster community, so hopefully your money goes where it is most needed. It is also only about 100k from Windhoek airport, so if you are doing "the loop" you can avoid staying in Windhoek twice and make a start on your way south even if you arrive in the afternoon.
It was very peaceful and quiet when we were there, although I understand it can get pretty busy in the weekends.
