This place is fantastic. The new main lodge is stunning, classic; no rustic kitsch to be seen. And yet the hotel feels and looks very much a part of its setting, the Adirondacks. My husband and I travel all over the world and have stayed in some pretty nice places, but I’ve never seen any hotel with such superb service... more

My wife and I just came back from two nights at the just reopened Lake Placid Lodge and we were blown away by the place. We had been thinking of going away to St. Barts for a long weekend but with everything going on in the world we decided to take a drive up to Lake Placid. We were there... more

We had heard stories about the newly rebuilt lodge and visited this month with a group of friends, hoping for an Adirondack experience. Nothing prepared us for this dazzling hotel, which is probably the most unusual luxury inn which we have ever visited, providing incredible comfort and luxury, in a relaxed and amazing setting. The interior of the Lodge can't... more

Perhaps it was the wrong time of year, and wrong time in general to go (there were only a few other guests when we went in April) due to construction. The new lodge was not complete (the old lodge had burned), though this did not matter much. Our cabin was very nice. Beautiful view of the lake, very private, very... more

We stayed at Lake Placid lodge after attending a weeding in Long Island. We found our stay there was a truly memorable experience. It is often difficult to separate the hotel and the location/ place and weather when reviewing. To give some context, we had wonderful, unseasonably warm weather (without the insects of summer), and we loved the hiking set... more

One of my favorite spots. Cabins on the lake. Adirondack-style interior. Really lovely. Refrigerator, sink, mini-bar. Roaring fire in the cabin. Breakfast seved in cabin. Terrific restaurant on site--BUT WARNING--the wine menu is TERRIBLE and VERY overpriced. TIP: BRING YOUR OWN WINE!!! The $20 corkage fee is worth it! more

Overall, we had a lovely stay at the Lake Placid Lodge. Upon arrival, we were greeted by Paul and Matt who gave us a tour of the property and brought our bags to our room. Very laid back, very hospitable. Made us feel at home. The main reason we chose this property is because we wanted a more upscale experience... more

My husband and I stayed at the Lake Placid Lodge (LPL) for a few days early October. What we liked: The property is right on Lake Placid. The setting is beautiful and serene, with mountains and their reflections mirroring in the lake. Because of a fire that burned down the main lodge in 2005, one waterside cabin was turned into... more

We stayed in a lake-front cabin for 4 days over Labor Day weekend. Rustic luxury and a low-key atmosphere are our idea of heaven and we were very well pleased at LPL. A few points of information: The cabins are less than ten feet from the lake along a @1,000 foot sliver of lake frontage. Directly behind the sliver is... more
