The great room has a cozy fireplace, a good place to curl up in a big chair and socialize with other people if you want to. The hotel itself definitely shows the wear and tear of its age. This Hotel has one of the best veiws I have ever seen. The rooms are of very good size but the hotel itself is a little hard to navigate.The dinning is good but very overpriced.If you want some decent dinning for a more reasonable price just walk down town more

We had a pleasant stay, the views even from "non view" rooms are beautiful because it's so hard to find an unbeautiful view anywhere from this location. The man at the desk who checked us in had a really unpleasant attitude from word one and a tone that expressed irritation with us, his job, or both for no apparent reason.... more

Our late September stay in Lake Placid was fabulous. We had a king room with the gorgeous Mirror Lake view - wow, the fall foliage was stunning. The balcony was extremly narrow, but considering the difference in the Adirondack Wing prices, it worked perfectly well for us.
