Hi
I stay in the Bakine every year when I'm in Senegal. The hotel is in an area called the Casamance which is in the Southern part of the country.
The Bakine is more of a family than a hotel and is my favorite place in the world.
The man that runs it is a huge Rasta called Olivier and he organises live music in the bar nearly every night.
The hotel itself can only be described as basic with rooms from 5 dollars a night. If you want to read a book you had better buy a candle.
If you wish to eat you can eat "en famille" which means you will be eating authentic African cuisine withOlivier and his extended family.
The most interesting people live in the Bakine, writers, painters sculpters drummers, strippers the list goes on.
If you dont fancy roughing it you can pop in to listen to the music.
The Bakine is the seventh wonder of the world.
