Absolutely amazing place, a little piece of heaven. We stayed for 9 nights and had the best and most romantic time. Matt and Anni (the managing couple) made the stay even more special by being so attentive and fun. Loved the accomodation, the view, the beaches, the sunset jetty bar. The pool is great, with a stunning view over the... more

In short - a piece of heaven. we were lucky to get Bungalow 12 which had its own pool and extra space and private sunbathing area. The views are fab. the time of year was a little overcast in the morning but hot in the afternoon. breakfast is fine - eggs on toast and tea. then pool food each lunchtime... more

Well, this may be a delayed review....but having just browsed this site as a reminder of what a wonderful time we had, I really just wanted to add one point that helped to make our holiday so special. Chatting to the friendly staff at the bar, it become clear that they would really like us to visit the local village... more

I have recently returned from a two week stay at Fundu Lagoon, Pemba Island, Tanzania. It was in their rainy season, as such, but a few days of a bit of drizzle and slight wind, did not spoil the sheer luxury and beauty of the place, or indeed my holiday. The rest of the time, the weather was wonderful. (I... more

Each time I close my eyes I think of the view from my room, beach suite #11. First, a smaller resort w max 20 bungalows and 120 members of staff for approx 38 guests. WIthout going on endlessly, the service overall was excellent and room was heaven. Beach was private, therefore very clean and no "beach boys" like on Zanzibar.... more

After a week of Safari in Kenya and a few days in busy Stonetown we really hoped that Fundu Lagoon would provide us with a relaxing end to our holiday. From the moment we arrived at the hotel we knew we had made the right choice. The hotel Manager Matt met us on the jetty as our speed boat pulled... more

Wow! Beautiful setting. friendly staff. All the luxuries one needs, although some travelers may find it a little too rustic. We took advantage of much that the resort has to offer and we found the staff to be exceptionally friendly and service oriented. While we were there, most of the other guests were honeymooners. more

We were slightly apprehensive about arriving at Fundu Lagoon after reading one derisory entry on Trip Advisor. Immediately on arrival it became clear that this was totally misleading, and cannot believe these people were in the same place! Fundu Lagoon is in an idyllic setting on a beautiful beach, although the the tide can go out quite a long way.... more

I was at Fundu in July 2006 for my honeymoon. Perhaps because it was winter, the service was terrible. We actually waited for 1h for a toast! The location is great, the hotel is very nice, although we were expecting a bit more. Not even a welcome gift for our honeymoon like we got in the hotels we been before... more

You have to deserve the trip, that´s why it will take you a bit of time to get there, but honestly it´s worth it. The location is unique, the bungalows are great, stunning view, the people really nice and careful, and the food is amazing. The dive centre and its team were sweet, relax professionals, making you feel confident about... more
