One always hopes that what is read on the internet proves to actually be true & accurate when time comes to take in the real thing. Well, my only gripe is that it doesn't stress enough how FABULOUS this place is-a true hidden gem! And maybe that's the point. To boast too much would set impossibly high standards but it... more

We picked the best time of the year to visit Buttermilk Falls Inn. The foliage was at its peak and their beautiful grounds looked wonderful. This was intended as a relaxing getaway among old friends and it absolutely delivered. They have a gorgeous riverfront house available with a wall of windows that overlooked the river. It's thoughtfully equipped and decorated.... more

We have wanted to visit the inn and spa for ages and having little kids just never got the right opportunity. Finally, the time was ours. We managed one night away and have already booked our second two night stay for December. Both the Inn and Spa are nothing short of heavenly, indulgent, peaceful, serene, tranquil, and blissful. We felt... more

We went to Buttermilk on our honeymoon and could not have been happier with our stay. We felt spoiled the entire time we were there. The food was excellent (Thanksgiving dinner too!) and our accommodations were great. We loved walking the beautiful grounds. The staff was incredibly helpful and went out of their way to pamper us. While setting up... more

The inn and surrounding grounds are quite lovely. The inn sits atop a small hill overlooking the Hudson (but you can't really see the river when the leaves are on the trees). The grounds are beautifully maintained and include a small pond, farm (chickens and llamas), and a path down to a small waterfall. Apparently, all the farming is organic... more

My husband and I checked in late on Sunday after running around for three days. Not much info is offered at check-in other than a map of the grounds, but we took this as an opportunity to explore. The grounds are spectacular. I was wowed and inspired by the lush plantings and the view of the Hudson. (I also checked... more

My husband & I stayed in the Juniper Suite on the 2nd floor for 3 nights. I highly recommend this charming inn! Our suite was spacious - great Jacuzzi tub and a beautiful view over the lush grounds and out to the Hudson from our large and well appointed balcony. My only complaint about our room was the lack of... more

We stayed for two nights in the Grand Laurel Suite - a very large and very comfortable room. Every room in the Inn has a fireplace, modern amenities, and beautiful decor - just lovely. Our room had a large jacuzzi tub which was more "modern" than many jacuzzi tubs you find at B&B's - I used it more than once!... more

My girlfriend and I just returned from a 3 night stay and we absolutely loved everything about our trip. We stayed in Sage Left which has a patio with a gorgeous view of the pond and the Hudson River. It is on the main floor of the Inn, but was still private and very spacious. The service was impeccable. The... more

Buttermilk Falls Inn is more like a small hotel - it's less intimate than an inn or B&B, but smaller and quieter than a hotel. It's an easy drive from Boston or NYC, on really pretty grounds. (We were there in winter, though, and spring/summer/fall would be nicer) The Sage room we stayed in was very pretty - light filled,... more
