I loved that it was on the pond side.. the view was so pretty and calm. Just what i wanted. The food was great and the service was so friendly.. there was nothing i didn't like.. very happy more

Not sure what everyone is complaining about. We had great service, the vibe was really cool, love the deck and the room looking out at the water. the surf lodge is everything i want in a hotel. great location, clean, modern rooms (something novel to montauk that's for sure) and with the best night scene in hundreds of miles. i could gush forever, but trust me, if you're young and want to enjoy life, stay here. more

Have to say, I've read the reviews below and it doesn't match my experience at the hotel. I stayed there this past weekend. The rooms are small, but the beds are heavenly; tempurpedic mattress, soft sheets, great pillows. Worst new property EVER. Management is unfriendly and down right rude!!! If anyone ever picks up the phone you MIGHT get a chance to book a room but I wouldn't count on it.... Totally a bust. Wrong type of place for a beautiful spot like Montauk; this place belongs in Hampton Bays or Miami Beach. Overpriced, very small rooms; service is not that good either. and....its on the POND. Too much attitude. Come on guys, who are you all kidding? more

The Surf Lodge is awful. Everything is WAY overpriced. The hotel is not on a beach and has no pool and costs more than place right on the beach witha pool. If you like rooms next to a dumpster or not being able to fall asleep 'til 4AM when the bar closes this is the place for you! Everyone there... more
