I had guests coming from out of town for a special visit to Montauk. The proprietor made extra efforts to accommodate my particular requests about room distribution. When we arrived, the rooms were immaculately prepared, beautifully appointed (it was better than some rooms at The W) and all our expectations were met. The proprietor even did a follow up call... Lakeside Inn is newly renovated by a young couple from Brooklyn. The idea of modern decor on the lake setting is wonderful. It seems however, that they have run out of money to fund their idea. Our room had a beautiful bathroom and shower. The bed was a tempurpedic or equivalent. The view through the double sliding glass door is... More

We visited the Lakeside Inn in late November with a bit of trepidation after reading some of the earlier reviews. Here is what I can tell you about our experience: We enjoyed our 3-day stay at Lakeside Inn. The rooms are simple but nice with a very comfortable bed, modern bathroom, and a private deck nestled on a beautiful lake.... More

We stayed at the Lakeside Inn in Montauk after reading the review in the New York Times. We arrived at the Hotel where there was no office open to receive our key. It took us 30 minutes to finally find someone who had our key to get in our room. We got to the room to find out that it... More

I booked the lakeside to cater a small birthday party for 20 people, back in April, for a date in late July. The manager told me he was under renovations and assured me that it would be no problem. I could not reach them after that until the week before my trip. that should have been a dead giveaway. When... More

It looks like they spent the majority of their assets on the website and PR. What we discovered was a poorly managed, underconstruction, overpriced motel. You can find those type properties in the area for much less money. My boyfriend and I did enjoy the Montauk area, and will return. Just won't be staying at this motel. More

My wife booked our stay based on the tempting pictures on the web site. Based on our stay, I'd say that the class action lawsuit for false advertising is due any day. The room was NOT FINISHED. That didn't stop them from charging full price, however. When we arrived, the main office wasn't staffed. We called the number taped to... More

Okay, maybe we came out on one of the first weekends of summer and maybe they were not up to speed on everything yet at the Lakeside Inn - but the front desk should at least have mentioned when we booked our two night stay (expecting wi-fi service, The New York Times and whatever else was promised on the website).... Like most of the other people on this site, my girlfriend and I were fooled into staying at the Lakeside Inn after reading a good review in New York Magazine and seeing the nice photos on the website. (I doubt if anyone from NY Magazine ever stayed here, or if they did, they must be a friend of the owner.)... More

Like almost everyone else I stayed at the Lakeside after a write up in NYMag. For 300 a night, we got a large comfortable bed, and a family of spiders. There were about 5-10 of them living on the ceiling, 2-3 squished onto the wall. The sliding door overlooking the lake didn't lock, which made me very nervous, but there... More
