The Aigialos Collection consists of sixteen, renovated neoclassical houses that were originally the fine homes of the island's noble captain families. The architecture and design of the houses bring to life the traditional way of life of the island's nobility. Restored to perfection by master masons using local volcanic stone and coloured lime plaster, the houses are linked by cobbled walkways. Situated on the rim of the caldera, sheer cliffs that rise from the sea, the hotel overlooks the island's famed volcano. more » « less

For my friend and I our stay in Aigialos was just magnificent We don’t like the hip - minimal style hotels that seem to be taking all over the world, that why this hotel was a total surprise to us Aigialos in terms of decoration, style and even music selection, was like a trip to the past. The friendly staff... more

This hotel is one of the older traditional hotels in the area. It is situated very conveniently at the edge of town for easy walking distance to restaurants. There are 16 rooms. The one that we stayed in (Skiron B) was definately the worst, although for the $300+ per night - It shouldn't have been. The ONLY window in the... more

My husband and I stayed at Aigialos and enjoyed it very much. Yes the room and bathroom were small and the little bed was hard , but after a day it felt very cozy. The views were spectacular. To wake up every morning and look out at the caldera was just beautiful and the weather was perfect every day. Demetri... more

We just returned from several weeks in Greece and must comment on the Aigialos. The location and service are among the best in Santorini if not all of Greece. From the moment we pulled up, staff greeted us with a smile and we were coddled from that moment on! Our room (actually two connected rooms, to accomodate our family of... more

A very magical place Santorini, and my stay was made all the better for the wonderful people at Aigialos. The island is a must see for anyone who wants to experience breath taking views, fantastic food and people. Aigialos provided the setting, and the staff were brilliant. Olga and her team manage to go that extra mile to make one... more

We were shown the Aigialos by our travel agent, and while the brochures of many hotels oversell the property, the brochures of this establishment do not do it justice. The view from our room, the deck just above our room was beyond description and truly fabulous, being about 1000' above the Aegean Sea. Even our teen aged sons were awed...and... more

This year we spent our holidays in Greece, on the beautiful and unique island of Santorini. We stayed at the lovely "Aigialos Hotel", which was recommended by some friends, as being the nicest one there. Our experience has shown exactly that. The hotel is located in the Fira area and was really fantastic. The view from the hotel is unforgettable,... more

I have just spent the most wonderful holiday on Santorini Island. I did not think that hotels like the Aigialos existed in Greece. From the moment I and my friend arrived we were made to feel so welcome. The setting is ideal, small, original, traditional houses, each with their own individual style. They are decorated with antique furniture and original... more

My wife and I recently stayed there for our honeymoon, and we were shocked at the utter lack of value in Aigialos. Coming from the Blue Palace in Crete (an outstanding hotel), we had expected something magnificent given that Aigialos was nearly 200 euros per night more. What we got was a tiny shower with no curtain, furniture that simply... more

I visited Aigialos with my fiancée last summer, in July 2005. We stayed for 10 days – 10 wonderful days! We very much believe in the first impressions: this one was extraordinary, and it was just the beginning! The hotel stands on the cliff and it has an extraordinary – breathtaking view to the volcano, we could not stop staring... more
