This hotel does not portray its self as the ritz or the grand hotel!!! So i dont get the moaning From everyone! It's a beach hotel right beside the beach!!! It's close to the night life but also separate and nice and quite! I've never had a bad meal here, and service has always been fine. I'd never heard of... More

Filthy is the understatement of the year. Human bodily fluid stains on coverlet, sheets so thin they look like they may rip.just laying on them. Under the cheap, old, thin sheets was a heavy plastic sheet...gross. Mattress so hard, I have slept better in a sleeping bag on the floor. Bathrooms moldy, not cleaned propertly, showers moldy, rugs dirty with... More

I have stayed at the F.I. hotel from before I was a mommy until now with a twelve year old. Time and cost doesn't allow us the time we once had there, but we still love it! No, it is not the Sheraton, Hyatt etc. But there is nothing like that on Fire Island, thank God! C'mon! The staff is... More

Spent three days and two nights at this wonderful resort hotel with my 12 year old son, 16.5 year old daughter and her 18 year old boyfriend. Everything and everyone were wonderful. Only down side was having to leave!

As I stepped off my friend's boat, I looked around at what I had heard of so many times: Fire Island. There was a shabby restaurant on the righthand side, and an even more shabby hotel in the distance. As I approached the hotel, my worst fears were realized. The hotel exterior looked incredibly run-down, as the paint peeled and... More

We just returned from a stay at the Fire Island Hotel and Resort in Ocean Bay Park. We found that the place met all of our needs and exceeded our expectations. It wasn’t cheap so I assume that some of the negative reviews are a result of people booking a $350 a night place and expecting a four star experience.... More

It's a great place if you're looking for basic accommodation, with 3-minute walk to the most gorgeous beach. The hotel has very basic rooms, clean and efficient, with great clean pool, along with nice bar and eatery. The staff are just about the nicest you'll find anywhere and if you let them know what ferry you're on they'll meet your... More

The room was a small box with a full size bed (not big enough for two adults) The mattress was horrible. It was all springs. Had to take Aleve in the morning for the bad back aches. There was a stall shower in the room. The first shower I took was ice cold. Went to call the front desk, there... More

What a great weekend. Love the atmosphere, Love the Pool, Love the Staff, and Love the location. Walkway right to the beach. Hurricanes for cocktails. Great mix of crowd. Been there once years ago, the current staff is a huge upgrade. Very helpful. And like the title says, it's not a LUXURY hotel, but then again, this is Fire Island,... More
