Found this hotel to be a little above average. I was able to book it very easily on the Holiday Inn website. The checkin was smooth and quick. The room was clean and the furniture was in good shape. The hotel is getting old and needs to be renovated. My room was in the second floor and as soon as I step out of the elevator there was an unpleasant odor all along the corridor. This hotel has MUCH to be desired. It is an aging hotel that has not been kept up. The rooms are adequate at best. The bathroom was in terrible condition and the shower... well... don't count on it. This hotel was adequate. The room was typical and fairly clean. The maid service was not ideal. The hotel has a very nice indoor pool facility and a typical fitness room with aging equipment. Don't look to close, the hotel needs a total sprucing up...begin with the elevator which was just plain grungy. The public areas seemed dirty, the rooms just a bit better, old air conditioners were dirty and loud, bedspreads have seen better decades. Having just returned from the area, we spent 2 nights in the Holiday Inn. Set just off interstate 87 it is easy to get to with plentyful parking and although a couple of miles from downtown Plattsburgh it is a straight uncomplicated road in to the town centre. No complaints...Excellent and helpful staff, rooms are VERY spacious and appointed well enough. THere is a well maintained Pool, rooms have internet access but what was very nice is there are 2 computers in the main lobby if you do not have a laptop and want to surf or check emails. Not the newest hotel out there. Also staff does not seem interested in helping business travels at all. Would recommend taken business someplace else for sure. As I am starting to notice is the case for most of the Holiday Inn's I have stayed at. more
