We spent five days/nights at The Copper Penny Inn (a B&B) while my husband and I were attending the New York Sheep & Wool Festival in Rhinebeck (just 30 minutes north). Michael (the innkeeper) was especially hospitable (he allowed us the use of his personal laptop to find several local businesses; he also let us use the B&B's washer &... more

Spent four nights at CPI, enjoyed the experience and its location close to Hyde Park (FDR stuff), Vassar College, Culinary Inst. of America, DIA monster-factory-gallery at Beacon, etc. Michael the innkeeper aims to please, is a font of info, makes good breakfastsand has cookies and fruit there all the time. Rooms are pleasing, clean and comfy. We like to walk,... more

The Inn was lovely, quiet, & nicer than it looked on their website. I felt very lucky to find a place that did not require a 2 night min. stay and had twin beds as I planned an overnight trip for my mother & myself. Michael, the proprietor, was extremely helpful with ideas of what to do in the area... more

The Copper Penny is a delightful bed and breakfast experience. The host is welcoming and very knowledgeable about all sorts of local attractions. His advice about dining at the Culinary Institute in Hyde Park was particularly helpful, and his gourmet breakfasts suggest he knows something about food. The nineteenth century farmhouse is decorated with excellent taste; there's no fussiness in... more

My husband and I stayed at the Copper Penny for a little get away and had nothing but a great experience. The building is old but obviously they have done considerable renovations, so it is very up to date. Michael could not have been more helpful. He brought out many papers with info about local happenings and later gave us... more

I stayed here with my daughter when we visited Vassar. We didn't arrive until around 9 p.m. or so, but the night caretaker couldn't have been friendlier. He helped us with our suitcases, offered us freshly baked cookies, and even offered to build a fire in the sitting room fireplace for us. Mike, the day manager (owner?) was equally friendly... more

I had the opportunity to stay at the Copper Penny in September, when I went to the CIA for one of their boot camp programs. I had an excellent week-long stay here, during which I had the opportunity to get to know the proprieters of the Inn. They exuded such a warmth when I stayed with them; and every day,... more

Just returned from a lovely visit here and thoroughly enjoyed it. Since my fiance and I had decided on this trip last minute, we had no idea what to do/see. The Innkeeper, Michael was very helpful and informative - he helped plan our entire weekend which included wine tasting, hiking and great places to dine. Considering our short visit, he... more
