Sunday I went to the Dockside Pub in Mahopac for dinner with friends. I had not been there before. It is located right on the shore of Mahopac Lake, so I felt a little bit like I was in a resort. Needless to say, we sat outside with a view of boats and jet skis crossing the water.
I tried a beer called Redhook Long Hammer. It is an IPA and I was guessing it was from New Jersey. My friend suggested it might be from Brooklyn. I have now looked it up on the website and the brewery is in Seattle, Washington. The beer was good, but I prefer Captain Lawrence's Reserve (double IPA) much more. (For anyone in the Westchester County area, be sure to stop at the Captain Lawrence Brewery in Pleasantville to sample their wares.)
