To paraphrase another recent review, this place is puzzling, and what you experience may depend entirely on the building you are put in and the room you get and how full the motel is, but I suspect your chances will not be good. If the price is all you can afford, it might work for a night or two. If... more

If I could discribe this hotel in one word, it would be the "Shining" This was by far the worst experience I have ever had in a hotel. I booked this room for Sat night because I needed to be at a course early Sunday am and rather than make the 2 hour travel at 6am, decided to come in... more

This was the closest afordable place to Southampton to move my freshman daughter into the dorm the next morning - an inconvenient necessity on short notice. HOWEVER, It is very old and smelled musty dating from the 1960's/70's. The keys were old fashioned and were difficult to work in the door and the TV remote was broken (at least the... more

It was fine for a night. Had my 11 yr old daughter with me (8 yr old nephew and 11 yr old neice were there also). My daughter told my nephew "we are staying in the ghetto"... It was truly fine for the night. The rooms were clean but the lobby smelled like dog. Not a good first impression. Rooms... more

My husband and I wanted a cheap hotel close to Wine Country. This was about $150/night, and we stayed for 3 nights. Granted, we were looking for simple and didn't care about super-amenities. The room was clean (the blankets were a little worn, but presentable) and plenty big enough for the two of us. The bed was comfortable enough -... more

1. The location was OK. Close to several main highways, so convenient for traveling around this part of Long Island. No stores or much of anything in the area, except for a couple of convenience stores in gas stations and a McDonalds a block or so away. Note that the immediate area has nothing and to some people may seem... more

As the son of a window/door service man that covers the whole Northeast, I probably stay at 30 different hotels per year for one night. Because we have to keep the cost down, we stay at the cheapest place we can find. It was early August in Riverhead, and all hotels were $250+, except for the budget host that was... more

Went to Riverhead Raceway for a 2-day race weekend. Three of us had three rooms reserved for Saturday 10/11 stay. Got a call from the hotel at 6:00pm night of arrival that they could not honor any of our reservations and they had moved all of us to the Greenview Inn which was a filthy dump. Travelers beware! Appears they... more

Four Seasons? No. But, affordable and accommodating? Yes. We needed to stay in the area for an early morning triathlon. We didn't want to have to have a two or three night minimum and pay $200+ a night to stay in the Hamptons proper since we had to be up so early. The Budget Host fit the bill. The staff... more

Like others, we booked this hotel only because it would take a one night stay and was available last minute on a holiday weekend. We weren't expecting much--I figured it would be Motel 6 quality, at least clean and comfortable for one night. It was quite below Motel 6---the carpets musty and damp, the bed uncomfortable, and there was a... more
