The East Avenue Inn is THE best located hotel in Rochester for those who want to sample the culture, restaraunts and bars Rochester has to offer. I have stayed at the Inn at least ten times over the past four years, and other than a nonfunctional card key now and again, I have no complaints. The staff has been very... more

The place was disgusting. The bathroom was filthy. I would rather sleep in my car. We left after a few hours and ate the cost of the room. It was well worth the money to stay someplace clean and safe. I would never stay here again. more

I have stayed at this inn on several occasions over the last 3 years usually for 1 to 3 days at a time. I find the staff friendly and accomodating. On my last visit, I forgot my phone charger in my room and right away upon my return home, the front desk called and offered to mail it to me... more

To properly understand the East Avenue Inn and why it represents good value, you have to understand that there are no good hotels in Rochester, NY at any price. Once you accept that fact you can remain Zen about its little quirks and foibles. I stayed for four nights for a conference at Eastman School of Music, right in the... more

If you like excitement, this is the place for you!!! Police cars at the premises, lots of "in and out" traffic, security guards. They cater to weeklong welfare residents. This place is a REAL DUMP!!!! Stay away! more

The East Avenue Inn uses industry standard security practices. This includes an electronic door locking system, fire alarm system, and trained security staff. The area has a significant police presence as we share the neighborhood with many other hotels as well as bars and nightclubs. As a result the East End is one of the safest in Rochester.

We have just returned from a visit to Rochester New York. We wanted a hotel near the Park Avenue area and found this was very convenient. Having read previous reveiws we were wary of booking and booked 2 nights initially but ended up staying for 5 nights. The room was spacious and although in need of a fresh coat of... more

Spent two nights, had to call the frontdesk both nights. Night one guest above me playing his tv on high, called frontdesk at 1:30 AM. Frontdesk attendant immediately responded and ask them to turn it down. Guest turns the tv down very little, and I take 2 tylenol pm. Six am the next morning he turns it on full blast... more

This guest was fully compensated for their troubles despite the fact that they were caused by factors that are not controlled by hotel staff or management. This guest assumes the hotel's occupancy is low based on the number of cars in the parking lot. Most of our guests arrive via taxi from the airport or train station and do not...

When I first pulled into the parking lot, I thought I was in trouble! The building looked old. Once I walked through the front doors, my whole impression began to change. The staff was very nice. The rooms were very clean. The location is one of the best in town!! They even offer wireless internet. I gave a briefing to... more

PROS: This place was reasonably priced and convenient to downtown, enabling me to walk downtown to a conference and restaurants. CONS: I had to be moved because the 1st room was infested with mice. I was told it was due to the proximity of the room to where the hotel keeps its trash. When I got to the second room,... more

The East Avenue Inn follows industry standards in our pest control and housekeeping practices.

Not amazing, but $79 for a very comfy King bed, convenient to the hip East End, and a clean room? It worked for us. Very small bathroom and poorly-masked water damage on the ceilings, but the room didn't smell. Ask for a room at the far end of the parking lot to avoid bar/club noise. Very friendly and helpful staff,... more
